Who knew? You can be ordained for free in one simple form. This may come in handy someday.

I'm ordained through them. It's quick and painless and I get to make people call me reverend. Ok, so I don't make people call me reverend, but I could.

When going to a swank restaurant, give reservation name as THE Reverend Indie and you'll probably get in quicker.

I have to remember that as I will soon be a Reverand also. Did you marry or burry anyone yet Indie?

Oh my gosh! I'm going to have to try that. Can I make holy water at the table too?

Nope, I haven't married or buried anybody yet. I keep my ordination because I work at a haunted house and occasionally somebody will ask about being married there. So, we have two ordained revs on staff.

Cool! We're going to have to talk about that. Sounds interesting.

Indie, what happened when you got ordained? Did they just send you a certificate and tada! You can marry people? Can you get tax exempt forms?

You have to pay extra for the certificate. Whether or not you can marry people depends on the laws of your state. Some states require more than an ordination.

I can't get tax exempt status because I don't make any money from my ordination. Ordained ministers are only tax exempt for monies they make while performing ministerial duties. If memory serves, I'd have to prove that any supplies or items I purchased were actually being used for a ministry to be eligible for tax exempt status on purchases.

I remember pledging that I wouldn't use my ordination to avoid taxes when I signed up.

If you don't have the certificate do you have any proof of ordination?

I got a print out when I applied for mine. It's just as good as the certificate.

The Right Reverend Damnsuicidalroos. Now that has an interesting ring to it.
I love this online Ordination, though I am reminded of the scene from Woody Allens "Sleeper" where he says his confession to a machine and receives absolution in the form of a print-out from it. Lol the whole idea has me laughing too much. Quick someone get ordained and absolve me as well!
Ah whatever, I`ll do it myself.

You are absolved. The Reverend Indie says so. Feel better?

There is actually an online confessional on their site.

Wow! Thanks IndieQueen that feels so much better [and just in time, guilt was eating me up]. In fact I feel so much better that I think I`ll go sin some more just so I can confess online and get absolved again.
I have discovered religion, and it feels great.

P.S. IndieQueen can I have a couple of absolutions in advance just in case I sin and my server crashes?

This is to certify that damsuicidalroos has three "floating absolutions" to be used in instances where his computer is malfunctioning. These absolutions are not transferable nor are they valid with any other offer.

That should do nicely.
