I just watched Seabiscuit the other day, and I was bawling at the end. I just love movies in which the main character overcomes a hardship to triumph at the end!

I swear that I will NOT watch it next time it is shown, The Railway Children! It has been on television this afternoon and I have a pile of soggy tissues - a real weepy.
Schindler's List did it for me too, and Love Story.

There have been a few movies that brought me to tears:
The Passion of The Christ: I cried throughout the entire movie.
ET: two scenes: 1.) when Elliot and ET are dying and the doctors are trying to save them, and 2.) when ET and Elliot say goodbye in front of the spaceship.
Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey: The end when Shadow comes hobbling into the yard after falling down the steep incline, and Chance (who is telling the story) says that Shadow became younger in that instant.
Born Free: when Elsa is sick and on the verge of dying, and when Elsa brings her cubs to see Joy and George.
Living Free: when Elsa's cubs are finally released in the Serengeti National Park.
Free Willy: when Willy jumps over the rocks to freedom.
The Shawshank Redemption: when Andy makes it to freedom and Reds follows after going to Buxton.
Old Yeller: two scenes: 1.) when the wild pigs hurt Travis and gut Yeller, and 2.) when Yeller is killed because he has rabies and Travis has to bury him.
It's a Wonderful Life: at the end when George realises his life is truly wonderful.
Miracle on 34th Street: When Susan realises that Kris is really Santa Claus.
And there is one TV movie that made me cry: The Five People You Meet in Heaven: The end when Eddie meets his fifth person in Heaven and realises it's the little girl he killed in the fire, and when he realises that she was the one who brought him to Heaven.

The Red Shoes ( the ending where she says "Take off the red shoes") I couldn't see the screen any more. The Blue Lagoon (original version) Once again , a complete flood!! Marlon Brando in Waterfront (Yes, of course "I coulda bin a contender") East of Eden. Most of it. But then, I cry in most films.I cried last night in Bridget Jones'Diary.

Ooh, I didn't know there was film of that. I loved the book!
The made-for-TV movie aired last Sunday (I think December 3rd?). The UK will probably get it soon, as it seems to take the UK a bit longer to get US TV movies.

Mine has to be The Glen Miller Story. When they play "Little Brown Jug" for her after his plane goes down that's it for me hand me the Kleenex box.
Or the other one that gets me is On Golden Pond when they are on the porch and she tell him He is her knight in shining Armour. Kleenex time.
Or when Elvis gets shot and dies in Love Me Tender! This isn't really a movie but the Concert For George Harrison had me in tears also.

Oh, I've just remembered one I missed.
"What Dreams May Come" I cry like a baby at that one! Just as I get over the death of the kids he dies too... and the rest of the film doesn't get much better (not until the end anyway!)

Lol you sooks make me wish I had shares in a tissue company. I haven`t ever cried when watching a movie but several have moved me. Turtle Beach, the scene where the boat people are being hacked to death. Jacobs Ladder, the whole movie from beginning to end shook me up. The Golden Seal. Gattaca I found moving and inspiring. One particular scene in Lassie Come Home had me crying buckets of tears. Lol as if.........I`m just not the crying type.

I just thought of one that nailed me (and I hope it hasn't already been mentioned - I was too lazy to scroll all the way back ). I always puddle up when Celie and Nettie are reunited in "The Color Purple".

I was watching 'It's A Wonderfull Life' tonight, and I have to admit I lost it. It was at the scne where evryone comes rusing into George Bailey's house and giving him all this money and thanking him for all the things he had done for them in his life. When they all started singing, a tear rolled down my face. It was so inspiring.

Last night I found a new one. I sobbed uncontrollably at the ending of "De-lovely" the Cole Porter story. A beautifully made film.

Here are some of mine:
Terms of Endearment - when Debra Winger is saying goodbye to her kids
Steel Magnolias - through most of the more touching scenes but mostly in the graveyard scene
The Color Purple - scene when (Whoopi) is reunited with Nettie
Dominick & Eugene - when didn't I cry?
My Dog Skip - at the end when the narrator talks about Skipper dying
Peggy Sue Got Married - When Peggy heard her grandmother's voice on the phone
Schindler's List - through most of it
Somewhere In Time - from the point where Christopher Reeve finds the coin to when he dies from a broken heart
When Harry Met Sally - during Harry's speech at the end
that's just a few....guess I'm a softie.

I just watched Magnolia for the first time. I didn't cry, but it was very moving and emotional. Especialy the scene when Tom Cruise is sitting next to his dying father and he keeps on saying while crying "I hate you". So too Requim For a Dream. I didn't cry, but I was hit with a heavy weight of sadness, espeically at the end where Jennifer Connoly is subjected to all these horrible things and there is no one to help her. Very depressing.

When Forrest Gump was released, I saw it in a local theater with my teenage son and his girlfriend. Two weeks prior, my husband had been injured in an accident and was comatose, not expected to live. It was a Sunday evening, and we were all exausted from days of living at the ICU in a strange town. We decided to go see this movie, get some dinner then head back to the hospital. Thinking I was "fine", I sat down to watch the thing until the very end where Forrest is talking to Jenny at her gravesite. I'm sure everybody in the theater will remember THAT evening. I burst into uncontrollable sobbing {up to that point I don't remember even crying-too many things to take care of} and had to go out. Oh dear. No wonder I don't care to re-see Forrest Gump -even though it was a terrific movie. Amazing how closely we identify with films on such a personal level!
