To be honest. There are only a few movies that make me cry. One is The Man Without A Face staring Mel Gibson and another is Ghost.

Last night my son and husband watched "My Dog Skip" for the first time. That one always gets me, so I had to go hide in the bedroom.

Looking through this thread - oh, dear, "Homeward Bound".... At the end, when the one boy thinks his old dog didn't make it, but he did, he was just slow. I know it is shameless manipulation, but I can't help it, I just fall apart. I'm tearing up just sitting here thinking about it, for gosh sakes.

"Frequency", with Dennis Quaid, is another tearjerker.

I know what you mean about Homeward Bound, agony. That's the part that gets me, along with the part when the old dog is "hugging" Peter towards the beginning and says (something like) "Oh Peter, I love you so much, you're the best boy a dog could ever have".

Generally speaking I do not watch animal themed movies as they all seem to be tearjerkers by design. The only exception I can recall would be "Cats & Dogs" or "Stuart Little" (if that one even remotely counted).

For me has to be:
