I just saw some guy in Chicago(on tv) make a hot dog with the following ingredients; mustard, relish, tomato, onion, peppers and pickle.
It looked fantastic!
Over here in Australia you get a hot dog with tomato sauce, and maybe cheese and onion. If you go to a "gourmet" hot dog stand you may get bacon. Frankly not a shadow on the above. What goes on hot dogs where you are?
Ah yes another hard hitting question.

You can put almost anything on a hot dog...

sauerkraut
cole slaw
relish
mustard and/or ketchup
cheese
chili
onion
and I'm sure other things that I haven't mentioned

I prefer mine with either chili and cheese or just a little ketchup.

Mustard, pickle relish, diced onion, catsup. There isn't room on the bun for anything else (whoops! forgot the hot dog).

I rather like Chili and Cheese, myself. For a grilling out, though, just ketchup, mustard and dill relish. None of that sweet relish for me! Occasionally, if I'm feeling lazy, just a bit of cheese.

Good one Roo's - my partner was into eating hot dogs for a month or so (he takes'notions' sometimes) and he would buy the American 'dogs', the rolls, and served them with American Mustard, Tomato Sauce, Grated Cheese, Diced Onion, Diced Bacon - I love hot dogs but after a month the whole family was sick of them - haven't had one for over six months now - might be time to resurrect them!

This isnt really a hot dog but we used to order them for lunch many years ago.
You put mustard and mayo on a hot dog roll, then cheese, raw onion, mettwurst, place a sausage roll on top of those, and sprinkle potato chips as a finale. A friend of mine named it the Cholesta-roll, and its much nicer than it sounds.

I don't have anything at all on hotdogs... not even ketchup. I like them plain. But with butter on the bun

A really good, natural casing sausage grilled over a fire or BBQ gets hot German mustard and maybe some shredded Cheddar. A boiled weenie in a Wonderbread bun gets bright yellow mustard from a squeeze tube.

All beef hot dogs, preferably Nathan's all beef brand, with a little fried onion, mustard, ketchup and sauerkraut.

Cannot stand the smell of hot dogs that are made of chicken, turkey and pork by products..Yuk!

Yeah, no fake dogs here either. I prefer Nathan's myself, and only use all beef dogs.
