I have downloaded a song which has a hidden track on it. The song goes for 5 min , then there's an empty space for about 3 min, then the hidden track starts and plays 'til the end of the track.

What I would like to do is just keep the first song (the first 5 min) and cut off the rest so I'm not just listening to empty space for 3 min. after the first song finishes.

Is there some audio editing software I could use to cut off the rest of the song? It would also be useful for bleeping out swear words on songs, like some radio stations do.

If the software is available online for free (and reliable) that would be great.

Thanks,

Sound recorder should do it. Just rip the entire track, making sure the file is a .wav file. Then, open it in sound recorder and find where the hidden track starts. All you need to do is choose 'delete before current position'.

There is a software called Goldwave which is a very effective audio editing software, however, i have no idea if it's free or not. It's just on my computer.
