In his latest run-in with the law Whitaker, who won $315 million in the Powerball lottery, demolished his Hummer by driving it into a highway median while drunk. If that isn't bad enough, take a look at some of his other problems:

· August 2003: $545,000 in cash and cashier's checks are stolen from Whittaker's SUV, which was parked outside a strip club

· Jan. 4, 2004: Whittaker is charged with hitting and threatening to kill the manager of a bar

· Jan. 17, 2004: $100,000 is stolen from his car

· Jan. 25, 2004: Whittaker is arrested on suspicion of drunken driving

· September 2004: His home is burglarized and a dead body is found inside
Sources: AP, CBS, USA Today

It is said that money is the root of all evil. Mr. Whitaker seems to have had a head start in the evil department before his windfall.

Life is so unfair. Wasting a fortune on a careless threatening drunk who is involved with dead bodies makes me sick.
And jealous.

Sounds like he's got some bad karma.

Just think of all the good that money could have done in the right hands, perhaps mine! Seriously, many charities could have put the money to good use - what a waste.

Yes, there is a LOT of money in this world that goes to waste, waste, waste, and terrible excess. Like the notable Whittaker case above. Scum of the earth, people like that. If more money were in the "right" hands as you say, sue943, the world would be a MUCH better, much healthier, much happier place. People in starving countries could have food. Cancer research could receive more funding. Education could truly receive the funds that it deserves, in the appropriate responsible hands, of course. Alas, I'll dream on.

Ah yes the vile Mr Whitaker wasting all his money when he could have done such good. Hmm where to draw the line I wonder. I imagine we are all sitting comfortably before our computers, such extravagance! Surely money put toward internet connections, and gold memberships would be better spent feeding the starving. Luckily we only judge those wealthier than us on such things. Phew! Now where's that pizza-boy?

Some of us do contribute percentages of our monthly incomes to charities and other worthwhile causes to help those who need what we are able to give. I know I do. Everyone can DO something or GIVE something to help those less fortunate. However, sad to say, most just turn a blind eye and a deaf ear when we could be helping the world become a better place! I dream of a better world, a happier world, a more peaceful world, and it could happen, if people would seize that dream and make it a reality. (Hear the optimism here?)

Strange thing is, Whitaker was a self-made millionare via the construction business before he hit the Powerball. Guess it's the difference between being moderately rich and being filthy, stinkin' rich.

More bad news for Jack Whittaker: His 17-year-old granddaughter, Brandi Bragg, has been found dead, her body wrapped in a sheet and plastic tarp behind an old junk van at the home of her boyfriend, Brandon Crosier. Brandi was last seen alive on December 4. Brandon's father was quoted as saying, "All I know is she OD'd and Brandon freaked out."

It seems like this man's life is one complete, insane, vile mess. Sad, sad, sad.
