A member of the Little Elm, Texas police department was fatally shot on Friday, December 10. He was only 38 years old. The town has been in existence since 1966, and this is the first police homicide.

Any homicide is sad but has more effect in a smaller community. From the report I assume that it was a 'domestic' rather than related to his work.

Yes, Sue, it was a domestic dispute. I never personally met the officer, but he did his job. If there was a mistake in something, he would ensure that it got fixed. The house currently has a police line tape around it that he was to move into. The only reason he was sought after in the first place was because he was late to work. He had had an altercation with a person earlier this year and did not want to miss because he felt the force would be "short staffed." He was dedicated to his job.
