I hope someone can help on this. Is there such a thing as a way to transfer a cassette to CD?

Windows has a sound recording program somewhere in the system, and you plug the tape output into the speaker jack on the computer, press record on Windows and record as much as it will let you (I'm not sure of the capacity). Then you put a CD in the burner and use the playback on the Windows sound recorder as your source, and (though I've never used a CD burner) that should do the job. Download.com or tucows.com should have free sound recorders if necessary.

Many thanks, Satguru. This has been a particularly tough one, for some reason. I shall set my personal patron techy on this as soon as possible and post a reply as to results. I 'm not totally sure what I have on this computer, but I am pretty sure there is a burner. thanks again.
