I'm new to the Firefox browser and use Netscape 7.0 and IE at the moment (I don't like IE, hence the switching to Netscape but have to use it when certain pages will ONLY load on IE...).

Firstly, I'll ask Firefox, Netscape 7.0, and IE users whether you think Firefox is worth using?

Secondly, if I am to use Firefox, although it's not a biggie, I would like to use a different theme to the default one. I have gotten quite accustomed to the Netscape AOL|7 "blue" theme and was wondering if it is possible to get this theme on Firefox? I have looked through some of the themes Firefox offers and found the old Netscape ones but I particularly like the blue modern one and was wondering if it possible to get this.

Thanks.

Well, I have just started using Mozilla Firefox. My father says it's better than IE, cause it should have better protection and it's sometimes much faster and reliable. I don't know about these themes yet, but maybe I can check them out later. Unfortunately, that's all I know right now..

I love Firefox. I never use any other browser. I even have IEView, so I don't need to open up IE if I need to see a page in IE. As far as themes are concerned, I love Noia 2.0. Phoenity is also fun. Nautipolis is very close to blue modern.

I would never return to IE or even Outlook Express as I have Mozilla for both. The only time I have to use IE is for Windows Update. I find Firefox to be fast, reliable and love trying out all the add-ons and many colour themes. You can even right click for 'View this page in IE' if you want to make comparisons.

It also gives me satisfaction to think that if someone sent a virus directed at my Outlook Express Address Book, they would find it empty! - all the addresses have been transferred to Mozilla Thunderbird. It is a real advantage using Mozilla that most viruses etc are directed towards the more commonly used browsers and email programs.

I can second that. I've only been using firefox for a few weeks, that is, ever since the release of 1.0, but I can't even dream of returning to IE. Firefox is so much better. You can browse the themes section on the Mozilla site for more themes, but I'd recommend either walnut or Noia, both of which are really brilliant.

Thank you everyone for your replies.
I have used Firefox for two days now and am hooked! I won't be retunring to either Netscape or IE in a long, long time. I have also found a theme I like, inspired by this thread, and it is Noia. Very nice .
Is Mozilla Thunderbird the equivalent to Outlook Express? And can you use IMAP on it?

You can even modify a basic theme by adding bits of code to the userChrome.css file (located in the 'Profiles' directory) and by placing a few extra graphic files in the 'chrome' folder.

See here.

You don't need to write the code or create many of the graphic files. These are copied and pasted from the Firefox site into the appropriate places on your computer.

It's the sort of thing that can be done when you get a little more familiar with Firefox.
