Anybody else have the misfortune of watching this garbage? The players seem to have forgotten cricket is still a spectator sport. How long this will continue remains to be seen on this performance.
Kallis may be a quality allrounder but i think he gets his wickets only after dulling the senses of his opponents to near comatose levels with his batting performances then sneaking in an over or two when they still nodding off.

I think we can safely say that Test Match cricket is a great sport when you have final days like today at the Wanderers!!! An outstanding batting performance by Trescothwick and then an amazing two session bowling show by Hoggard, if the person who started this thread thinks this series is boring..then dont watch cricket because today you got an outstanding performance by England.

great spectator sport = game between two pretty evenly matched sides.

E v SA (& Bangla v Zim for that matter) look to be much more entertaining than the Aussies rolling over a Pakistan side that look like they have no idea.

Typically I missed the last days play, so it was guaranteed to be good.
Ive actually concluded the blame for boring cricket is that of the South Africans. I'm actually looking forward to the Ashes series this year cos England look to have turned the corner (finally!), got some good young players coming through. Not sure about Ashley Giles though, dont you guys have any other spinners. There you go i've just guaranteed him a bag of Ashes wickets.

England may have 'turned the corner' but some of their old problems are still recurring. Inconsistent batting has dogged this particular tour (especially Graham Thorpe and Andy Flintoff..oh and Butcher too), and again we're seeing the all too familiar batting collapses. The bowling has been a hit and miss affair and i'm not so sure these guys have the ability to bowl out an Australian side twice in a match. But anything is possible of course.
England have to stick with Giles as there just isn't another spinner good enough to replace him, it's as simple as that.
Personally I think England's good run of results will come to an end this summer, but let's go down fighting this time!

England will certainly carry a swag of good results into the Ashes Series, and their confidence will be high. Victory over the Australians would make them the world's best cricketing nation - a laughable suggestion a year ago. The only cloud over England's hopes, seems to be the imminent surgery on Flintoff's ankle. His presence or absence may well prove the difference between winning and losing.
