I recently got the firewall Kaspersky Anti-Hacker installed on my PC. What I'd like to know is, is this firewall reliable against hacker attacks ? After installing, I have got already got four attacks which it says it has repulsed.

Thanks,
Angi

I haven't tried this firewall but it's reckoned to be reasonably OK. If it's blocked four attacks then it seems to be doing the job. General reviews say it is an adequate firewall but some reckon there are better ones. The CNET editor rating gives it 6.3 out of a possible 10, which is fair. For more information type: kaspersky anti-hacker review into Google. See the top of the list.

Thanks tw, that really helped.

Sorry for bringing this up, but want to elaborate on a big shortcoming for this firewall. This firewall has no update facility so you're not protected when new versions come out. For this reason, I've dumped it off and am searching for another one.

Try the free version of ZoneAlarm. If you like it, consider buying the Pro version.

You need to be careful with ZoneAlarm and ubbthreads. They don't seem to run very well together, and pages slow down considerably, even with hi-speed connections.

I have Zone alarm on my computer and it works great.

Jay is right though that sometimes it slows the system down, as when you read the install instructions on the Zone alarm website it tells you that it may.

Luckily I have not had any such problems.
