Though the discovery was over 20 years ago, for some reason the media rarely mention the scientific discovery of 'entangled particles'. Latest article . This discovery showed that once two particles interact with one another they react at any distance away. It also reminds me of an experiment where someone's blood sample was measured to jump when the person was given a shock in another building. The implications of this discovery contradict everything we currently believe in science. Particles have also been shown to react beyond the speed of light, in the 'twin particles' experiments, where atomic clocks measured the twinned particle reacted instantly half-way round the world, despite any physical electro-magnetic waves having to take a fraction of a second.
This also implies we could exploit this property in many ways, sending objects instantly across the world, for instance, as well as remotely influencing things anywhere in the known universe, if we find a way of manipulating these effects. It also means already that there is a new, unknown force that operates independently of space, and could therefore imply a new dimension where the effect travels when it goes from a to b. I hope our mainstream scientists get busy again, rather than apparently sitting back, saying 'ok, we've discovered this, we can't do much with it, so what?' as it must be one of the most amazing discoveries in science ever. Just because they can do little of any practical use with it shouldn't stop our greatest minds from making tests to see just how much they can transfer using this property.

I just read your post and the article and was intrigued. I am interested in astrophysics and have read many books on the subject yet I have never come across 'entanglement'. If all particles are connected through their reactions at the Big Bang*, then think of the potential. It could suddenly become possible to communicate with planets and lifeforms millions of lightyears away. It could in fact be the key to teleportation and time-travel, but let's not get too carried away.

When you say 'particles' do you refer to atoms or the sub-atomic particles such as electrons, quarks, etc?

*However, unlike the article suggests, I don't think particles during the Big Bang would have interacted with each other until the universe expanded significantly and atoms started forming, due to the incredible temperatures. This is a generally accepted theory but could be disproved.

At the moment, scientists predict that 75% of the universe is made up of 'dark energy', a force which cannot be seen and having unknown properties. This in fact may hold the secret to 'entaglement'. Very interesting!

They are referring to quantum particles, but how they are made to connect wasn't so clear. This also applied to the twinned particles which I came across elsewhere, but could well be referring to the same thing. Either way, as we're all made up of these we could well be responding to all sorts of events elsewhere subconsciously, except the many examples I know where someone suddenly became aware of a friend or relative in trouble. Maybe their cells were responding to an extreme panic in the other by mirroring a smaller version in themselves. As this is commonest in twins, one way particles could be connected would be from common DNA, and the more particles we share with someone the greater our reaction until it becomes so great we actually become aware of it. Just one way I can see it possibly applying already.
