I just did a google search for "www", the amount of search results returned was 4,380,000,000. Can anyone post a higher figure returned under any other search? What other high number search results has anyone got?
I recall tellywellies mentioned that a search for "http" would be interesting. The number of results for that is 1,340,000,000.
A couple of interesting things I found was the search results for "www" and "http" contained many of the big names on the net in the first couple of result pages.

A search for "the" produced 8,000,000,000 hits. Top of the list, ahead of "Welcome to the White House" was "The Onion," the satirical online magazine.

A search for "miserable failure" yeilds the official web site biography of George Bush. The same for "Best President" and "worst president".

Google Bombing anyone?

With miserable having the first three results as

George Bush's official biography
Jimmy Carter's biography
Michael Moore.com

A search for failure returns the same results in exactly the same order.

I could do with some new ones so I'll take half a dozen. I've told the usual ones so many times now that they're all wearing a bit thin.

When I fist searched "the" I got 3 billion, and just then when I searhed I got 8 billion. What's going on? I must be losing my sight, or my sanity. That's what the FunTrivia forums do to you!

Anyway, this was the first I heard of 'google bombing' or 'googlewashing'. Quite interesting. This wiki article is a good one about google bombing.

It is quite ironic how the very news articles which report on 'Google bombs' actually cause the bombs' decline. They rank in at the top results, and push the bomb down.
