I really liked this episode. It was really well done how they showed him waking up after the crash and just looking at his toes (in the beginning of the episode). I just thought, what a strange thing to do when you have just survived a plane crash.
But when they showed the scene again at the end of the episode, it all made sense. Yeah I admit he started running a bit too quickly, but he probably didn't think too much about it at that moment .
I had actually wondered about that wheel chair before, but I just assumed that the passenger it belonged to died in the crash...

I don't know about you guys but if I had been in a wheelchair for that long and was all of a sudden able to move my legs and stand up without considerable pain... I'd definitely try to run right away just to make sure everything else was in order.

I know what you mean, but just the fact that he doesn't have any pain or numbness in his legs is quite remarkable. And he hasn't used his legs in four years, so his muscles should be quite weak... but, as Copago said, it's only TV.

I just don't want it to get over silly - so far I can sit on the lounge on a Thursday night surrounded by junk food and I don't even have to change channels with the two shows on after it. The lad goes to bed and the rest of the night is mine - my favourite night of the week. (I really msut do something about a social life ) I can live with people being able to walk again after four years in a wheelchair but there better be a good explanation about the tropical polar bear!

THe fact he had muscles is remarkable too.

Really they should have done something, especially with a doctor there, about the dead bodies before they started to smell ...

I think I'll find something each week to roll my eyes at but I do like it. Honest.

So bodies/skeletons have been found of previous islanders. Freaky.

I feel sorry for Sun, after seeing her past. Her husband is too protective of her and maybe she would've been more free if she left him. But then again, she would have the burden of her father and her husband finding her out for the rest of her life.

Does anyone think Sun's husband can speak English?

I would've been more surprised of Sun speaking English if the ads had not given it away 100 times before the show actually aired. I wonder how she learned it, if her husband cannot speak it.

Edit: Just a coupla' grammar mistakes.

I think we're about a month behind you guys in Australia here, we just got episode 2 tonight. And let me tell you, that show's just WAY to scary for me! Intriguing concept though, so I think I'm gonna have to tape it so that I can watch it when it's not dark outside.

Actually, "Lost" started for the US on September 22, 2004.

I just talked to my brother in Germany, and he said it's not on TV there yet. But maybe they'll get it soon, if it already hit the continent

I don't think Sun's husband speaks English. Obviously Sun has been taken English classes for quite a while, because she seems to be pretty fluent. Or maybe she's just extremely talented... It would have been pretty easy for her to take the classes, because it seemed to me like she was alone a lot while her husband was working. Does anybody know his name by the way? I think it's the only name I haven't picked up yet.

Whenever I see a preview for Lost on TV I change the channel, because it is so much better without spoilers

So who are everybody's favourites so far? I like Locke, Charlie and Sawyer (kind of. He's the type of character you just love to hate )

Chris, his name's Jin... I would tell you his last name too but you'll find out for yourself later.

Although I'm sort of way ahead of you guys, I'll tell you that my favourites are Sawyer, Charlie, and Sayid. I kind of like all of them, except for maybe Shannon, and I totally agree that there's just something about Sawyer you just can't help liking and hating at the same time.

"Lost" will begin in Germany on April 5, 2005. Tell your brother he'll love the show!

Do you mean the one that drowned? No, she wasn't one of the major characters.
Shannon is the one who gave herself a pedicure right after the crash

In case that was in response to my post, I said that we were one month behind Australia, not the US.

I turned off the sound and hid behind the couch! Ah well, okay, only the first part of that is true.

Your brother probably had to wait longer, Chris, because they had to dub everything.

Yeah, I wish they would stop dubbing things, because maybe that would help the Germans lose the weird accent they have, when they speak English

Speaking about accents: I love Charlie's accent. I wish he had more lines...
Hopefully he and Claire will get together. They'd make a cute couple.

Charlie does have an adorable accent... especially when he says those oh-so-British words like Nutter, bloody and many others. I love it.

Yeah I like Charlie too. The last episode we saw, 1.7 "The Moth" was very good also. I liked the symbolism through it and how Charlie gave up his drug. Good twist at the end where it made you think he was going to go back on drugs, his hood shadowing his face and then he throws it into the fire.

But this week no Lost or The Amazing Race. I wonder why Channel 7 is doing that? Two of their high-rating shows not being aired for a Better Homes and Garden special and some other show. Hmmm.

They are doing it because - wait for it - ratings period doesn't re-start until after Easter. Desperate housewives is off for the few weeks too. Unreal.

Cheeky entertainment gossip here. The gal who plays Kate, and Charlie are dating in real life. Whoda thunk?

Umm, there is another thread for the Lost fans in America. Lost! This one is for the Australians who are weeks and weeks behind so we don't inadvertantly get spoilers. We haven't had Hurly's story yet here.

Gee, I just love my wacky weddings. I'd watch that show over Lost and The Amazing Race any day...

Going to be devastating when WW goes off and they go back to the normal shows. Oh, yes. I really want to not watch Lost and Amazing race again in protest but I know I'll get sucked back in.
