I have never seen a team score EIGHT flukey tries in one game!

If they must be in the GF, I hope they play St George- the insults flying in here will be fun to watch...

You're just jealous - lost the gf last year then can't even make the finals this year. What price wooden spoon for the roosters next season?

Storm beat brisbane and sharks are ahead at half time in the dragons game. Can I smell a week off for the Tigers next week?

It is very much against my religion to barrack for another team so all I'll say is that I hope Eels lose (which really isn't different to any other week. Sorry Kevin)

SO next week we have Tigers v brisbane and storm v cowboys. I'm predicting Tigers and storm to go through to week three.

How about Andrew Johns? THe man finishes the season, spends a day or so on a plane and three days later plays for Warrington and beats Leeds, the champions who they've not been able to beat in four games this year, and picks up man of the match. And all for $24, 000 a match. He's just fantastic.

Happy Mad Monday, men of league! Slammed onto our desk this week was a leaked memo of the NRL's Mad Monday guidelines. After much ethical debate and deliberation we thought we'd publish those wise words c "ATTENTION ALL NRL PLAYERS - PROTOCOL REGARDING MAD MONDAY BEHAVIOUR.

” You MUST wear your club playing strip - with sponsors' advertising - in case someone doesn't recognise you. Only exceptions are those in drag.

” Police resources are stretched, so it is COMPULSORY to advise the police where you will be and what offence you will commit. You can do this by filling in a form available online on the NRL website.

” No wearing of nylon shorts. Dance of the Flaming [censored] and Fart Lighting are on the activities list and no one wants to end up in the hospital emergency ward with buttocks burnt by smouldering plastic.

” We all know the standard rule is if you haven't scored a try over the season you must do a nude lap of the training oval. This has become boring. So with traffic low in the cross-city tunnel, non-scorers MUST streak through. We have arranged with the RTA for commemorative videos to be available to those who complete the cross-city streak.

” Clean underwear. Yes, it's a long day, but thanks to MM Ambassador Trent Barrett, push-ups in underwear is on the activities list and is expected to be VERY popular.

” Attending the Empire Hotel on Mad Monday is TOO obvious. You will be required to set up a table to drink in Martin Place.

” Penrith have banned Mad Monday so they are now having Just High on Life Monday. The Panthers are going through a hard enough time as it is, so please do not tease these players for their chai tea binges.

” As per usual we'll be having an MM awards ceremony. Club cheerleaders have made up some nice certificates, and there'll be skolling for milestones and stupid things said over the course of the season.

” Remember, when the lizard is on, tongue out. No pointing - elbows only. No head-butting chief executives - at least not in viewing distance of members of the public.

” For any newcomers, we've employed Reg Reagan at great expense to attend all functions and pass on his tips to rookies.

” When leaving cabs without paying the fare, make sure you give yourself a decent head start by asking the driver to park on a hill. This will assist with a fast start and if you stumble there's still a chance you'll roll downhill and escape.

” During the season the rahs-rahs - through the exploits of players such as Matt Henjak - have tried to steal our thunder. The NRL joint partnership committee cannot emphasise this point enough - it's your job to make rugby league No.1 in the atrocity stakes.

” On a serious note, since Brad Fittler was found outside Glebe police station in 1999 (described by a police source as "the drunkest human being ever"), no one has taken his mantle. Please boys, do your best.

It will be the game to end all games next week! And it will be at the football stadium with no chance of it being moved to Telstra. I really realy hate the whole idea of the ticketing by the NRL ... St George fans have known they're in that game and have had yonks to get tickets, Balmain supporters have known for 2 hours. Is hardly fair. (and am not just saying that from a Tigers point of view either - some grandfinal tickets went on sale before we even knew who was in the finals)

Yeah, come on Gt, Nannanut or any other poor dragons supporters - are you feeling confident or are you preparing for your alst game of the season?

Man, I'm pumped! lmao

Hopefully the NRL will see sense, and move it over the road. 80,000 seats V 35,000 seats seems rather logical to me.

They're saying because tickets have already been sold they can't do it plus contract with Aussie stadium. Sigh. Not that it matters for me for next week but come Saturday night I will be moving hell and high water to get a ticket. (fingers crossed lol)

This has gone into the memory banks, Jill. I'd really love to see a Tigers -v- Parra grand final. I'll give you heaps then, but until then, I'll stick by my quote below

It all depends on Saturday night. If Tigers win then I'll want to see the cowboys in the GF and I'd feel more confident of a win but I have to agree with you, a Tigers Parra one would be a match and a half ... if Saints happen to pull a miracle then it'll be a great GF to see them against Parra too.

And I'll be able to get a ticket come Monday morning if I need it. Phew.

I believe Nth QLD are $3.40 on the NSW TAB to win this weekend. Juicy odds, even for a Parra supporter. At this stage of the season, would anybody else be tempted to back against their team for odds like that? Jill, would you lay a lazy hundred on Saints (if they were those odds)? My logic is this:

If my team wins, I've lost $100, but the Eels are in the Grand Final.
If my team loses, I'm up $240 to ease the pain.

Make that $3.60 or $2.05 with 9.5 points start! Tigers are $2.45, off scratch.

LOL

No, I couldn't bet on the other team. I tipped against the Tigers twice, just in a friendly comp here on FT, a couple years ago when we were firm favourites for the spoon ... first time against knights and it turned out okay and then the next week it was against Brisbane. And we only went and effing won ... combine that with threats of being left out of family wills and I will never bet or tip against them again.

I am so nervous today - it's like Christmas as a kid ... am trying to keep myself busy to keep the time going quick. "Tigerbelly" is how one person referred to it on the tigers forums.
