My scales are electronic but not new so don't do fractions of pounds, if it is half a pound they will flicker between the two weights so put me down as about half a pound.

TabbyTom what is your secret? Not that I want to lose weight that quickly as I would worry that it will pile straight back on.

I think the main reason why I’ve lost weight quickly to begin with is that I started out something like forty pounds overweight.

I’m afraid of putting a lot of it back on again, too. Jonimacaroni’s advice is good, but I haven’t got the patience to take off just a pound or so a week. Over the next couple of months I’ll be trying to compile a permanent diet that I can stick to without putting weight back on: but alas, I fear it’s going to involve cutting my beer and wine intake pretty drastically – maybe even down to H M Government’s “safe limits”!

Maybe I should commit myself to posting again much later - say just before Christmas. That should give me an incentive to stay on the straight and narrow.

I think the main thing is not to deprive yourself of treats, half your beer intake, or if it is really high take off ten per cent!

I'm going to have to add mine in on Monday, I am in the mountains in New York at the moment and my father's scale is a filthy rotten liar!

Can anyone tell me what the "poundage" equivalent of a "stone" is... you guys keep saying stone and I don't know what it is.

Looks like about 186 lbs, so I did lose a little, maybe two pounds. Just about to eat dinner, so may be a bit off on this. Anyway, I didn't gain!

Erm... I gained half a kilo up to 77. The worst part is I started eating healthily, found dropping the junk food from my diet relatively easy, and pushed up the exercise a tiny notch which I am already doing a fair bit of.

Ah, then the weight gain could be muscle, it weighs more than fat.

Well that makes me feel a lot better. Does this mean if I continue to put on weight I can call it muscle?

I don't seem to gain either, but I sure as heck don't lose much either. I have walked miles this week, and eaten nothing much . I still only lost a pound. Grrrrrh!!!

Back to where I started, 188 lb. It's all because of that pan of brownies that the bake sale decided they didn't need after all "It's not my fault, I swear!"

Stick with it, ren! At least you're not GAINING weight! I bet you ten Hong Kong dollars that next time you weigh in, you'll tip the scales at less than 13st 4oz!

Still 10 stone 10 pounds, and that is after celebrating my Mum's birthday this week too! Hoping to lose a pound or two next week!
