I’ve just seen this in an e-mail from a British quizzers’ site:

Quote:

CAN SHANE WARNE BECOME THE FIRST AUSSIE MILLIONAIRE?

Spin king, Shane Warne, could be the first person to win $1 million on the Aussie Who Wants To Be A Millionaire -- with a little help from quiz champ Trevor Sauer. In a celebrity charity episode full of drama, Warne and Sauer proved a formidable combination. They have one lifeline left for the $1 million question, which will be shown on Monday 14 February. That lifeline is Warne's friend Rob Sitch. (Perhaps our Australian members would tell us how Shane gets on?)

If this is so, I’m sure some of us would like to know how well Shane does. Will any of our Australian members be watching the show?

Okay, it is on soon, Tom. Don't normally watch the show but the prospect of Warnie saying something unforgetably stupid is driving me to watch. Of course I will be devastated if he proves to be intelligent.

Will let you know how it goes!

They couldn't be positive about the million dollar question so they took the five hundred thousand for the "Shane Warne Foundation" (for kids) Final question was something along the lines of "What was the first US hit for the Supremes" they called their lifeline, Rob Sitch, who is a bit of a personality here, but ran out of time. When they go for the $500 000 Eddie asks what Rob would have said given a bit more time and he sayd the correct answer! Oh well.

Warnie came over pretty well actually, not intelligent (phew!) but okay.

(I was on the computer at the time and found http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:cr2Bz...=en&start=1 - seems a bit coincidental)

The other team didn't do too badly either, the one with Pauline Hanson and a contestant. Forget his name. They won $250,000.

It was funny when they showed the timer on screen. At first, I was wondering what was going on, maybe they made a mistake? But they were actually showing how long the contestant was taking to explain and theorise one question. He took around 12 min! At the end of it Pauline Hanson said "Please explain". I really don't like her and that saying annoys me so much but her timing was right.

Yeah, one thing about Pauline is that she can laugh at herself. Looks like game shows is her thing lately ...
