My DVR was full so I missed last week's show and I am so mad...
There just has to be a merge since Steph and BJ can't vote for each other...this is precedent setting though.

Well, there is some pleasure in being right. A tribe of one and I had a hunch who it'd be. I think I'm boycotting the show again. There is no tribe of one! And she's stuck out there all by herself? The show is letting it get mean to do that. Probable good ratings, however. My money is still on Steph. If she can pull this off she deserves the prize.

I was also surprised to see how tonight's show panned out. I agree that Steph deserves to win. I know cameras are planted everywhere, but are there any cameramen?

I guess I'd better add, in the spirit of "Political Correctness", were it Bobby Jon out there by himself it wouldn't be a tribe, either! It's clear Steph won't give up. But who talks to her at night now? Who makes this struggle worth it? Do we need to see Steph becoming this lonely clam crazy effort giver? I'm sorry. I'm just not comfortable with it. Oh, and by the way (even though I can't remember exactly just why last night) I don't like Coby anymore. Or Tom. I'm now waiting for Tom to go at eating his tribe members! He's gotten carried away for sure! Coby is just a watcher mostly, I think. Yikes! Yet a whole other week to see what happens next. Oh, and be glad that I didn't get into that Janu looks like a clown on a bad day . More about that later.

You know, it is so disheartening to see Ulong lose time after time. And now Bobby Jon is gone. How sad. And poor Stephenie has to deal with camp by herself. I feel bad for her.
I also hope that Stephenie wins this. I think she is one of the toughest and most capable women to be on this show. If she can't win, then I hope Coby wins. I know, a lot of you don't like Coby, but I think he's really cool. I didn't think I would like him at first, but I really do. He's smart, funny, and he knows how to play this game. Also, I get the feeling that he's gone through a lot in his life, and it's made him stronger.
And here was yet another episode that made me want to grab Jenn, shake her, and yell in her face, "GROW UP! You are here to survive, not to be a beauty queen!" Arrrggghhh!
Well, who knows what will happen next? Since there are 9 members left, the jury should be forming at the next episode. Hopefully there will be a merge then, for Stephenie's sake.

So Ulong is no more and the tribes have become one. I, for one, am happy that they skipped that whole cheesy tribes joining together ceremony that they usually have when two members from each tribe get together to get drunk and create a new flag and tribe name. It was interesting to see how Steph was welcomed with open arms (and almost as quickly stabbed in the back) by Koror. It was funny to see her open the mail that said she was merging with them. She got so emotional. Coby has gone. Sniffle sniffle. And just when I was beginning to like him too. Oh well, it was great to see him grab Steph in front of everyone and pull her aside to talk to her in a great effort to spite everyone. I thought that was brilliant and hilarious. Anybody else think Steph was dumb to jump off that platform for some pizza. After making it farther than everyone else in Ulong and braving the night in the wilderness by herself, she goes and gives up immunity for a couple slices of pizza? Wow, I don't think I would've done that. Granted, Tom practically guaranteed she woudn't go first, but I think she should've stayed on until she couldn't anymore just to prove to Jenn how much stronger she is than her. Tom getting hammered and slurring his words and stumbling around had to be the highlight of the night for me. How hilarious was that? I loved Janu's face when she saw what was going on as Jeff kept calling out Coby's name. I wonder if everyone is as oblivious about the original alliance between Ian, Catie, Tom and Steph as Tom seems to think they are.

Whew! I was waiting for somebody to say something - just so I didn't come up with anything too off the wall this week . Yes, Steph should have passed on the pizza. It's my guess that she assumed the others just knew how hard she worked to stay with Ulong (when all they really knew was that she was great in the challenges). BIG risk for her to jump off like that. Luckily Coby pulled a bigger gaffe in his quest for a doughnut! After his [totally snippy and whiney] series of displays he should have known he wasn't exactly popular. Hopefully he'll take some time to get his shorts out of a knot as he sits on that jury (but I doubt it). Tom getting loaded was kinda funny. Good thing he didn't have any house fires to put out that night!

No kidding! I have always hated this. And does anyone else out there think that when they come up with a merged tribe name, it is the dumbest sounding thing ever?
I am sad to see Coby gone. I guess that's no surprise! I thought he was one of the best players, next to Stephenie. But since I knew it would come down to either him or Steph, I was more rooting for Stephenie to stay! I hope she wins! That would be so cool!
I also don't think she should have jumped off for pizza. But I'm sure she had her reasons, and she wasn't voted off, so that's good. Ooh, I have another theory as to why Jenn doesn't like Steph. Up until now, Jenn's been the prettiest girl in Koror (at least, in her opinion). Now she's got competition, and I can definitely say, from a female's perspective, Steph is much prettier than her! At least, I wish I could look like Steph rather than Jenn! Did that make any sense?

Lol, oh my gosh, I know! I was worried they would do this and come up with something corny like Ulonor or Korlong or, cheesiest of all, Kulongor,

I totally agree with your theory. I think Steph is way prettier than her and has a much nicer skin colour, I might add. Plus she can kick Jenn's butt, so Jenn has all the reason to be mighty jealous. I'd love to see Gregg start paying attention to Steph... wouldn't that just make Jenn pull out her own pretty little blonde pigtails.

Oh, no ! I only saw the beginning of the show last night and fell asleep after dinner. After a little reading I am assuming that Janu got the boot (in what little footage I saw it looked like she was acting like an ADD kid deprived of his/her Ridalin ). Someone said something about Probst being hypocritical on the putting out of her torch. None of it made much sense to me but those "official" Survivor Boards make little sense to me, usually. I think this one over here is quite 'official' enough. Anyway, details please on what I missed.

Although Tom didn't really feel like it was fair, the core group decided to vote Stephanie out because she is seen as a true threat, even though Janu was acting like she was ready to go home. Janu opted out of the immunity challenge first and the penalty was being sent to another island by herself for the night. She struggled making a fire, but persevered until she did and this gave her a new sense of strength and self worth. That next morning, from the way everyone seemed to avoid talking to her, Stephanie understood she was being voted out and her frustration got the better of her at tribal council, bringing on tears. She didn't understand why someone like Janu who wanted to go home would be kept in the game when there was another player like herself who desperately wanted to stay. Despite the impression we were given that Janu wanted to continue, she decided to lay down her torch in order to let Stephanie stay in. Stephanie told her to lay down her torch only because that was what she wanted to do, so Janu rephrased herself and said, more or less, that she had gotten what she needed out of this experience and was stepping out of the game.

Whatever reasons she gave for quitting the game Janu made a noble move. Janu recognized that she was being used and refused to participate in that scheme. She returned from exile with a renewed sense of herself and still chose to opt out of the game. I applaud her for stepping aside to prevent a better player from being voted out.
Stephanie has earned her place in the game and despite knowing that her days are numbered she didn't want to go down without a fight so her frustration at Tribal Council was certainly understandable. She also recognized Gregg's power play and made a risky move by speaking her mind and for at least another week she remains on the island.

Thanks, McGruff. I had no real idea what happened. Laying down your torch? The motive behind that seems real clear. They weren't being strong! They wanted to give up without the realm of embarrassment later. I can't remember his name now, and I thought it noble at the time, but it really wasn't. When he hurt his foot on Palau. Don't drop in when it's so easy to drop out. But, again, I didn't watch last night. Janu getting exiled all by herself sounds mean but she sounds to have basically asked for it, too. Her dropping out was NOT memorable, though. Just my opinion. Steph, the best grape on the vine, ultimately (probably) didn't need such help. I'll stick with it. Go Steph!

That was Jeff. Just thought you'd like to know.
I was very impressed with Janu's performance when she was by herself. Gats, she was exiled because she was the first person to lose the immunity challenge, and whoever did that was to be exiled for the night. For a lot of people that would have been a horrifying experience, but Janu made the most of it and actually seemed to enjoy it, once she got her fire going!
I don't really know what to say about Janu quitting though. My interpretation is that her night alone proved to herself that she could do this, and she didn't need to win the game, because to herself, she was a winner anyway.
Did anyone else get super irritated with Katie this episode? When she was laughing when Janu lost the challenge, I just wanted to smack the little twerp. She is so mean.

lol, you know, Katie did annoy me this episode, but I'm still so horrified that both Janu and Karyn decided to help themselves to the food they had brought for the other survivors... what the heck was that? Janu was puking her guts out after having a few spoonfulls and she goes and helps herself to the little food they brought the others... wow, can you guys say gluttony? I couldn't believe that. And what the heck is Tom thinking? Does he not see the threat that Gregg and Jenn pose? I mean Tom may be very strong (and unbelievably good looking... okay, okay I admit I have a thing for older guys ) , but if he doesn't realize that Greg is quickly starting to take over the reigns a little bit, he is way more naive than I thought. If I were Steph, I would seriously have a conversation with Tom about what Coby told her regarding Greg and Jenn's plan to kick off Tom and Ian. And how cute did Coby look sitting on the jury? I just wanted to go over there and squeeze his cheeks (on his face, just in case you were wondering )

I think Jeff's ankle took a seriously sprain and it was probably in his best interest to opt out. Injuries like that don't heal correctly if you don't stay off of them. A bad sprain can take six to eight weeks to heal, so continuing in the game really wasn't an option for him. Even if he had somehow managed to win, a million dollars is not worth a lifetime of pain and uncertainty everytime you take a step, and he is only 21 years old.
Janu opting out didn't bother me nearly as much as some of the others in the past have. Her motivation was not so much about her giving up, but more about changing the course of the game by allowing Stephanie to stay. She was prepared to go, thinking the vote was going to be for her, and volunteered when she realized Stephanie's head was on the chopping block. Quite a magnanimous jesture on her part, I think.
I would like to see Stephie win one challenge. She's one tough player. She and Tom are probably the two people who would actually survive if the situation was real. Anyone who wanted to take a shower with clean drinking water obviously lacks any sense of priorities about human survival.

Oh, Steph. Poor Steph. She really didn't stand much of a chance after coming over to the established tribe. The cool thing is that she is soundly being dubbed one of the strongest players ever on "Survivor" and I agree 100%. I really hope Tom goes next week. I can't imagine who might win this now but they'll likely (and wisely) knock off the strongest players now. Every person for themselves, after all. Brutal truth there.

Round of applause for Steph, everyone I must agree with you Gats, she was one heck of a competitor, if they ever do another one of those Survivor All-Star shows, I'll bet she'll be asked to come back down. Her only flaw was being too trusting of the Tom, Katie and Ian alliance from day one. (ok, well, that and the fact that she has terrible aim, but that's another post ) I still think she should have approached Tom about Jenn and Gregg's plan to kick him and Ian off. Luckily, it seems (according to the previews) that next week Ian and Tom finally realize Jenn and Gregg's evil plan. It'll be interesting to see how that whole thing plays out. Anyone else think that Caryn is an idiot? I do, I do... she went and babbled to Tom about the all girl alliance that would have guaranteed her final 4 in favour for her final 6 alliance with Tom and the gang. "Hmmm, finish 4th or finish 6th... duh, which ones better... Oh, I know 6 is a bigger number." What a nut ball. How could she not have seen the desperation that drove Tom to talk to her in the first place? I mean, did she really think Tom would have voted out Ian or Katie before her? I dunno, the things people do in this game baffle me to no end. Okay, enough ranting for one day.

I almost missed the show thanks to the Prez having a live conference - and you're right Gats, seeing Steph get voted off was so unfortunate; I could have done without seeing that. I also could have done without seeing Gregg washing Ian's back! Does anyone know how last night's order was determined for the Immunity Challenge? Maybe tile placement, though it was random, had a lot to do with it but it seems that maybe Steph may have stood a better chance if she had had her turns sooner. Then again Ian didn't really even need his turns as he had alot of outside help! Steph seemed to be using the lighter coconuts - not too much heft to them, didn't a few of them bounce? Aside: Why won't they get rid of Katie or Caryn? Whyyy? They are both such negative people on the tribe - I'm almost hoping to see one of the men win this one, although it won't be as fun to watch now that Angie, Coby, Janu and Angie are all gone.
