Hello everyone!

Well, it's that time again! Time for another new season of "Survivor"! This time the location is Palau, which is somewhere in the South Pacific. World War II was also fought here, and there is still evidence present such as wreckage from planes.

This season there will be 20 castaways (usually there are 16, and the last two seasons have had 18), and the promos say that 3 people will go the first episode.

Anybody else going to watch?

It starts Thursday here in the U.S., I don't know when it will start in Australia.

Oh, yikes. They're gonna get me all hooked again. I can't wait, though. By the way - I saw Jeff Probst on a talk show this morning and he is now romantically linked with one of the former contestants. Her name is Julie - but I can't remember her at all. He looked all happy, so I guess that'll work...

Julie Berry was from the last season of Survivor (Vanuatu). She was the one who took her clothes off to sunbathe naked. Jeff Probst is about 20 years older than her. Do you remember her now? As I recall Gats, I remember you getting upset over another person going around naked on Survivor! Irritating, isn't it?

Well, the games have begun! 3 people given the boot tonight! Jeez, I barely got to know who was who and they're gone already. That one poor guy looked so crestfallen when he wasn't picked for a team and that lady that went with him left with a bang! She almost seemed thrilled to go - all that singing as the boat sped off. Kind of weird! At first glance I don't think the bartender or the hairstylist will be around too long. I don't even know any of their names just yet.

I don't remember naked Julie. When people get naked on the show I usually don't pay attention. I'm not prudish about nudity, mind you, but I don't want to even think about it on an island. Bad enough to stink with your clothes on. PU to stinking with them off.

Okay, I'm going to use people's names here, simply because I put the word "Spoilers" in the title of the thread. So here I go!

For the most part, I was very happy with how this first episode went. The only exception was Jonathan not being picked to be on a tribe. That was very sad! I felt so bad for him. I mean, the guy's a cancer survivor, but he can't get picked for a team? And I was hoping he'd be one of my favorites!

However, I am glad that Wanda wasn't picked. Her annoying signing drove me nuts! I can only imagine what it was like for the people actually out there with her. Actually, I don't want to imagine that. Something's not wired too well in that woman's head, if you know what I mean.

I was also happy that Jolanda was voted out. I had hoped that she would be cool, but she was just so bossy! What irritated me the most was her telling the tribe that everyone would work for two hours, and then rest for an hour. No argument, no disussion. Those were her orders. After nine completed seasons of Survivor, you'd think by now that people would learn that isn't the best way to approach the game! And I didn't like the way she targeted Angie (the one with all the tatoos who doesn't fit in). I have no problem with Angie and I'm glad she's still there!

So far, my favorite person is Ian. He's the guy who was first on the beach and got the first Immunity thing. I think he's awesome! I hope he makes it all the way!

Let's hope that this season isn't boring like a few previous ones that we've had!

Which one is Ian? (I missed the beginning...). If he's the firefighter fellow I like him, too. Jolanda being voted out was a good pick. Goody for her that she is a woman with a strong personality. She got greedy and wrecked the Challenge for her tribe. Given her self-proclaimed vigor about herself all she really managed to prove is that she wasn't a good teammate and a horrible leader. She obviously didn't see Ami at work last time. I like Angie, too, but she's shooting herself in the foot. You can't go into a contest like this yakking about that "you are different" - that'll put your torch out in a hurry. That Coby didn't pick her for his tribe was a shocker but it should have made her quite clear how this game works.

Woo Hoo. I'm getting the names now! Thanks AG for the assist.

No problem Gats!

Oh, by the way, Ian is the really tall guy who won the first individaul immunity necklace. He's about 23 years old, so he's definitely not the firefighter guy. Ian was the first person to pick someone for his tribe.

I forgot to mention, another one of my favorites is Gregg! He didn't say much during this episode, so I can't really point him out that well. He has dark, somewhat curly hair, and is a business consultant. I hope to see more of both him and Ian!

I am willing to bet that the two kicked off in the early part of the show (Johnathon and Wanda) will make it back at some point.

First show was on last night here.

Hmm, I thought of this too! But then I asked myself, "Would they really do that again, after Pearl Islands?" Anyway, if they do this, I have no problem with Jonathan coming back, but Wanda? No way!

Did you enjoy the first episode?

Rats,

And I wasn't even going to watch the jolly thing this time around - but there was absolutely nothing else on here in Aus - so there you have it.

I have missed a few series so I was surprised that they weren't allowed to keep their fire after Tribal Council. As I recall that was usually the first chance some of them got to start a campfire.

Oh well - there are probably a few surprises in store for me then.

Why do people get on these shows and run out of gas in, what, just six days? That happened tonight - and, of course, I can't remember her name. Glad to go? Physical limitations are just physical limitations, but if you have some why even sign up for a grueling endeavor such as "Survivor"? Anyway, MAJOR pats on the back to Angie last night. Did she tear it up or what. Perfect timing for her to do that. She boosted the whole tribe's morale with her performance in that Reward Challenge. Good to see her regain some confidence, too. And that poor Willard! All due respect to him but I'm wondering if one of these Challenges might kill him. I thought he might drown last night!

I am also perplexed as to how Ashlee (that's her name Gats! ) just sort of pooped out after 6 days. But I wish that Kim had gone instead of her. And I do NOT like Jeff! I could call him some names here, but they aren't suitable for FT. Let's just say that I hate the type of guy who thinks he is the greatest thing for women, and any woman that he gives attention to should consider herself very lucky, and Jeff is that type of guy. I've seen it a million times, and I'm very familiar with it. And if the Jeff/Kim thing isn't broken up NOW we will be having a repeat of the whole Boston Rob/Amber thing, and I will puke if that happens again!

And I think Angie rocked last night too! Woo hoo! She is one smart cookie. And I am so happy that Koror found their flint! Yay! I thought that was one of the greatest moments in Survivor history, in my opinion. And yes, I also felt sorry for poor Willard! But this isn't the first time an "older" contestant has had trouble physically.

If things keep going the way they are now, Ulong (the tribe that keeps losing Immunity) is in serious trouble, because they have no organization and can't work together. They may have physical strength, but in the long run it's no match for the ability to function as a team. And that's fine with me, because I definitely favor the Koror tribe!

I was happy to see that Angie kept her chin up and managed to turn the game around in her favor (at least to this point) but I do agree that she shouldn't have commented on how Coby and she were outsiders (paraphrasing)...that probably alienated him somewhat and thought he'd be better to distance himself from her soon. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out if/when they merge (and provided they are both still around at that time).

Like AlienGoddess, I also like Ian, he seems to have a positive aura and is good for his teams morale; hope he hangs around for a while. Poor Tom is taking a lot of heat for moving Koror to another island. I hope that choice doesn't come back to bite him - but what can you expect when dining al fresco on a deserted island but to find a rat or two....Caryn needs to shut up about it already. Other strong players (mentally, as well as physically) seem to be James and Stephanie. I wouldn't mind seeing Katie voted off next as she cost her team quite a bit of time during the last challenge...

Well, Ulong loses Immunity again! They better get their act together! But Survivor has a history of the "loser" tribe becoming successful later on. And since I love the Koror tribe, I really don't care if Ulong keeps losing!

What does everyone think about Jeff basically quitting the game over his ankle? Personally, I think that he should have waited to see how his ankle would turn out, but oh well. I would have much rather seen Kim go. But Jeff being voted out too was fine with me! As I mentioned earlier, I couldn't stand him! And at least we don't have to worry about a Boston Rob and Amber repeat, at least with those two!

And congrats to Stephenie for being the only woman who stayed through the whole Immunity challenge! I thought that was remarkable, as the challenge looked very physically tough. She has really impressed me now!

No one seems to have mentioned Bobby Jon. Bobby Jon is my boy, that guy is a work horse, he's smart, and he's good looking to boot ... I'm going for him all the way. I also like Tom (the firefighter) and Angie... I can't stand Coby sometimes and I didn't like Stefanie at first but she's growing on me now.

Bobby Jon has jumped to fore after last weeks show...his outspokenness about Kim gave me a new opinion of him and her for that matter. I also like Tom, he's a great player, very even-tempered and strong. Of course all these things will pose a threat to the others and he will be voted off for it. Angie's hanging in there and I'll bet there's going to come a time when Coby will regret the way he snubbed her. Ibrehem (sp) seems to be a good guy too, hope he sticks around for awhile...but Stephanie (sp?) is one tough player...her team needs her. I still don't like Caryn or Katie - let them kill each other.... What does anyone think of the Showgirl?

Despite that ghastly "Love Boat" routine I kind of liked Jeff. His quitting (or whatever) seemed noble - maybe a little too much! Although injured, on his worst day he was more useful than Kim. Team spirit is great but in his prematurely made decision it seemed out of sync to me. Just my opinion, though, and pretty much echoing AG's. And agreement on that Bobby Jon! What a little buzz saw he is! Work, work, work. The only problem there is he's making the others look lazy (which they mostly are) and they might get in a snit about that eventually. And Angie continues to impress! The woman is a pit bull with tattoos.

Edited to correct spelling

Hmm, I think everyone is pretty much in agreement that Kim is useless! I wonder if she's going to turn into another female who just can't seem to make it without a male protecting her. You know, another Amber. I will be SO happy if she goes next!

So far, my favorites are Ian, Gregg, Janu, Stephenie, and Angie. Tom's pretty cool, too! I have mixed feelings about Bobby Jon. On one hand, I like that he's willing to work so hard, but I have noticed on occasion that he has a temper. I'll have to see about him!

Janu's pretty cool, the way she climbed that tree really impressed me, but she's so frail, almost sick looking at times... and when she went up against Angie in that water thing she was practically dying after.

Actually, I found out on the CBS site that when Janu went up against Angie in that challenge, Angie seriously poked Janu in the eye, and later Janu could barely open that eye. She was in a lot of pain and her head and eye hurt badly. So that's why she looked so terrible after the challenge! I wonder why this wasn't really shown on the show?

Angie poked her in the eye!? Oh my gosh, that's so funny. But that does hurt so I can see why poor Janu was crying.

Yippee! Finally, useless Kim was voted out last night. But I do feel bad for Ulong. They lost both reward and immunity last night! Now that most of the annoying people are gone from Ulong (Jolanda, Jeff, and Kim), I think I will root for them to win SOMETHING! This is getting pathetic!
