I would like to have known Atticus Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird because he is such a moral character and has great values!

Many many, but tops on my list would be Albus Dumbledore. I would also love to have a conversation with Saphira from Eragon. MM

Lord Peter Wimsey (Dorothy Sayer) - the first man with whom I fell in love. Gervase Fen (Edmund Crispin) - eccentric, clever, infuriating, very funny. Inspector C.D.Sloane (Catherine Aird)- for the quirky way his mind wanders when the Superintendant is talking to him. I'd like to spend a weekend with the Marlowe family (Antonia Forest) and go hawking with Patrick Merrick. I think I'd get on very well with the grand Sophy (Georgette Heyer) I'd be interested to meet Joey Bettany (Chalet School, E. Brent-dyer) (god, that dates me!) but I think she'd be too jolly decent and hockey sticks to form a close friendship) And of course, Mma Precious Ramotswe, one of the nicest people I know. Thankyou for the information about Mr. J.L.B.Matekoni's name, but does anyone know why he is Mr. and not Rra?

Harry Potter was My first love. I grew up with him. and when I was 12 I wanted to marry him. so yeah, nothing too profound there. Just a girl in love.
But I think it would also be The Ruler of The Universe from the Hitchhikers series by Douglas Adams. He's my favorite. I hope he really is out there, ruling the Universe.
Gandalf.

I would like to meet Abigail and Proctor from The Crucible. Meeting Hester and Dimmesdale from The Scarlett Letter would also be interesting.

I'd love to meet anyone from the harry potter series. In fact I would give almost anything to have that book be true, and have there be magic in the world, although if I turned out to be a muggle that'd be hard for me to deal with! I would like to meet aragorn from The lord of the rings, and faramir, i hate how in the movie they make him look weak and mean. (he's actually wise and kind) I would love to meet saphira too from eragon! (im reading that right now, if you don't already know that from the other forums I've posted at!) there are a ton of characters i'd love to meet...... oh and i really want to meet martin the warrior from the redwall series! that's not all but I have to leave now! more later!

Let's see Gimli, Aragorn, and Gandalf. Anyone good from the "Redwall" series. I don't think I would want Cluny or Swartt or any other badguys hop out of the books. Scary. Prince Caspian from the Choronicles of Narnia. He's so cool. And my last one would have to be Ane Shirley.

I had it all sussed who I was going to choose but reading the above posts has made me dither somewhat. Ok, here goes. Kian [Scarlett] and I would ask him out. He's a really kind person, and is so... cool. Jane Eyre because she's witty and really kind to everybody. And finally Rose Rouge [Marshmallow Magic and the Wild Rose Rouge] because she's got great taste and has a great love of her sister. ---------------------------------- Of those who say nothing, few stay silent.

I agree, any of the characters from the Belgariad! Especially Belgarath though, or Silk. Other characters would include Temperance Brennan from Kathy Reich's 'Bones' books, and either Fred and/or George Weasley from Harry Potter.
