Has anybody any idea how to get netbeans to run on either a windows 2000 sever OS or XP pro? I've downloaded it from the site but then when I run the instal program, it crashes saying I need Java VM, however I trued downlaoding Java VM and it blue screaned me :S I need this to work to do my Java programming assignment I'm rapildly running out of time to do it and I cant get it to work

It seems you'll need the sort of specialist help that may not be found here. Most of us are happy just to keep our computers running one way or another But still, your post made me look up what netbeans actually are. I'm still reading a bit about the subject.

Since you are involved with this already, you might have found this site:

If not, this seems a good place to look up netbeans problems. I notice the 3rd link down offers a netbeans/java bundle. Perhaps that might be the answer.

oh thank you!! I was downloading it off my univesity's site. I guess I was having A blonde moment! lol The bundle seems like it may be the solution
