Are you using Internet Explorer? This can be a security let-down on the wrong sites. Running it without locking it down a bit will land users in trouble once in a while. Have a read of
this article and follow the links in it, especially the one that says, 'Disable Active Scripting in Internet Explorer'.
Alternatively, if you're not already using a browser other than IE, consider trying one or two out. There are a number to choose from. None are 100% safe but most won't so easily lead to the kind of trouble you have now.
It's best to have a very thorough read of the page on how to remove the virus. Especially take note of the part that says:
Quote:
Press Ctrl + ALT+DEL and bring up task manager, go to processes tab and right click on explorer.exe and then select stop process
The virus attaches itself to Explorer.exe. I'd think that if you tried to get rid of the virus with Windows Explorer running, you might end up deleting that as well. Then it could perhaps be format and reinstall time.
Perhaps other AV programs will be able to deal with this effectively soon.
