This page here has a very good list of 46 best freeware utilities with very good descriptions in all of them. You don't have to have all the programs there but there are some very good free utilities there. I'd suggest everyone have a look.

By the way, there are 60 items in the list. :P

Will Norton's and AVG 'play nice' together? Or will it create conflict?

Ozzz, if you plan to use both Norton Anti Virus and AVG's Anti-Virus, I strongly recommend you NOT TO ! Two anti-virus programs SHOULD NEVER EVER be kept on a machine. I'd say, uninstall one and then install another.

Just a note regarding that list, I use AVAST (anti virus) and have never had to reregister!
