Like you already don't know how old you are, but try this, it does work, lol. The scientifics of math!

***Work this out as you read...
***Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!

***1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate. Make sure it's more than once but less than 10.

***2. Multiply this number by 2

***3. Add 5. (for Sunday)

***4. Multiply it by 50 (I'll wait while you get the calculator...;)

***5. If you've already had your birthday this year, add 1755.
If you haven't, then add 1754.

***6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

***You should now have a three digit number.

***The first digit of this was your original number (how many times you want to have chocolate each week)

***The next two numbers are...

***Your age! (YES it is, isn't it?)

I've seen that before, but not with chocolate.

This is 1000.

I've seen it before too, but with number of days a week you want to go out (for fun, on a date, whatever). It's neat how the math works out just perfectly.

And by the way, you can start out with any number (if you pick a two digit number, such as 12 in the beginning, you answer will be 4 digits, the first *two* will be your original number, and then the next two will be your age!)

A good bar room trick, but remember the math is about subtracting the year of birth.

It seems to work like this:

Let x be the number you choose (i.e. the number of times you’d like to have chocolate).

Multiplying by 2 and adding 5 gives 2x + 5.

Multiplying by 50 gives 100x + 250, and then adding 1755 gives 100x +2005.

Subtracting your year of birth (call it y) gives 100x + (2005 – y).

x had to be a single-digit number, so 100x will be a multiple of 100; and the difference between 2005 (i.e. this year) and your year of birth will be your age, and it will be a 2-digit number unless you’re 100 years old or more. So you’ll have a 3-digit number.

The first digit of your 3-digit number (the number in the hundreds position) will be the number you first chose, and the rest will be your age.

Now, calculate why eating a pound of chocolate will probably result in me adding five pounds and I'll be impressed.

Thanks for the explanation TabbyTom. I am doing algebra in class right now so it was pretty easy to understand. I get it now.
