I used to like the Geico commericals when they had the cute little gecko, who was the representive for Geico, and which everyone was saying Gecko instead of Geico. The Geico commercials now are just irritating.

I also don't like commercials where they tell a story just to sell a car or can of coffee.


This may sound really weird, but I sometimes wonder what people back in the 1800s would think if they saw these inane commercials. It seems like everyone wants to dumb us down instead of respecting us for the intelligent people we are.

I kind of like the Geico commercials. They're kind of funny. I swear that if I ever see another Bowflex commercial I am going to shoot the person who owns the company! They are extremely annoying, and they seem to appear on every commercial break.

I've gotta agree with DakotaNorth about Geico. The little lizard with his swagger, his dance steps, and his tiny car is a hoot. That self-absorbed.."I've got good news..." is despicable. I hate the whole series of them but surely the worst is when some prisoner's lawyer tells him he's got great news and the poor schnook asks "about the parole board?" before hearing the shyster's self-serving definition ofdefinition "good news". It may be topped though, by the politician who interrupts his own "evening news sound bite" harrassing of someone before his committee with HIS "good news". Applauding lawyers and politicians good news? No thank you.

Here in the US, the commercials that I loathe are the cell phone commercials where the guy is walking all over the country, stops, then asks whoever's on his cell phone, "Can you hear me?... Good!" Then he continues walking.

I'd like him to stop halfway across a crosswalk/zerbra crossing, ask his question, then get hit by a truck before he gets his answer.
