Happy rotation of the earth to one and all!

I once lurked and posted in these hallowed halls, but one would have to go back almost to the end of the 20th century. (I was called Jabberwock & borogove) Well, now I am Auntie Fybs.
Here is my bio cut and pasted from an unfruitful attempt at online dating. LOL

sex: Male
born 1971
Height 5'6"
Weight 135 lbs
Build slim/fit
Hair brown
Eyes brown
Skin white
Hygeine clean

Work Full-time (6:00-14:00)
(Urban Tree Planter...aka a postie)

I am a single guy who has a son (born in 1997), who lives with his mom 80% of the time.
I also have a step-daughter (born in 1993) who lives there as well, about 85% of the time.
I have lived around Commercial Drive for the entire 15 years I have resided in Vancouver.
I am currently living in a second story 1BR, reveling in the glory of my ‘own’ space. My life is pretty busy, but I would love to make room for someone.

Interests

I am big fan of games in general. Some of my favorites include anything with cards (Poker, Bridge, Crib...), Backgammon, Scrabble and all sorts of other board games. I play slo-pitch with co-workers, and enjoy casual bike rides.
Music..hm. My All-Time Top 10 (in no particular order) would have to include:
Willie Dixon
They Might Be Giants
Soul Coughing
The Beatles
Trout Fishing In America
Loudon Wainwright III
Daft Punk
Propellor heads
(If you have heard of just 3 of those, I’m impressed already)
In general I like every genre from blues to funk to hip-hop to techno. As long as who ever is performing is near the top of their field, I can appreciate all forms. I enjoy playing music, and can hold my own on almost any given instrument. My favorite has to be the Bass guitar. Give me a good back-beat to groove on and I will keep it going all night.
I am a pretty creative/artistic guy outside of work. I enjoy designing, playing music, singing, acting. I would really like to learn to dance well.

I love trivia, and digging up answers to Urban Myths, phrase origins etcetera. I look forward to hanging out in these parts for another while.
Some of you, I remember (my regards to the family of Gunslinger), some of you, I look forward to parleying with.

"If your face is lopsided, don't blame the mirror" ~Nikolai Gogol

oh, ps... I am a new man since my separation, and my new acronym in life is NTFYBS (No Time For Your BS), which quickly became Auntie Fybs. You don't want Auntie Fybs entering into a conversation you might be having with me these days LOL)

Hi, Auntie. It turns out I'm a long time fan of Trout Fishing., too. Besides Steve Miller Band and Buddy Holly, they're one of the best things to ever emerge from the Texas hill country!

Have a great time.

note:[Buddy Holly and Steve Miller are from Lubbock and Dallas, respectively]

Welcome back, Auntie. Nothing has changed too much, I predict. We're just a pack of unruly skunks still. Good to have you around we stinkers.

Thanks to all for the welcome notes.

You Vancouverites should come out in a couple of weeks, and see the theatre-play that I am in. It is a 2-act called "Inspector General", being put on at the Ukrainian Hall (805 E.Pender) on June 16,17,18,22,23,24,25,26

=) My first acting venture in over a decade and I land the lead... go figure eh heh eh eh

ta ta for now

ktstew: You've heard of TFiA? that's awesome! They are inspiring artists to me. I would love to recreate their whole scene...if only I could find a suitable guitar player... =) Take care down there

Ballykissangel: like stereotypical canucks, we love to chat weather eh heh eh eh. We have been on an incredible run in Vancouver this past year or more. I had people commenting on my tan over a month ago (I work outside slugging mail for 3-4 hours a day) Very few people in the world could be as far apart as we are, and yet in the same country. Glad to virtually meet you =)

PurpleFan: I think your name rings a bell =) Thanks for the welcome.

ozzz2002: LWIII is another inspirational performing artist in my life. He goes well beyond Dead Skunk LOL. "You don't have to look, you don't have to see, you can feel it in your olfactory...you got your dead skunk in the middle of the road..." =)

12791_kr: Not exactly sure what you mean, but thanks, I think *grin*

gatsby722: It's nice to be welcomed by a moderator. Cheers to you gat =)

gtho4 : Now how could I ever forget you? No, I didn't figure out that crossword....Don't make me pull it out again! argh!!! ehh heh eh eh. I have the "reading through the envelope" conundrum currently dominating the other board as it is. =) cheers mate!
