Yes, it is, but only if a player has only one yellow card. If they have two, they're suspended for the second round game.

That was a great match to watch! Australia played very well, they deserve to go on to the next round. I hope they send the referee on a holiday though, he seemed to love his yellow and red cards way too much!

Most of us downhere are suffering from a lack of sleep.
The games start at 11pm, 2am or 5am!

"I Told You So" is there in homage to the late Johnny Warren - ex Socceroo Captain...

Johnny was full of "I told you so's" in reference to the beautiful game, and it is even inscribed on his grave...

Worked that out this morning when SBS played a bit about him - meant to say but forgot all about it.

So, the group stage is over and the real test begins today ! Real juicy starter, Germany v Sweden and Argentina v Mexico.

I am stumped on something and hope it can be answered by our resident football gurus here. Apart from 1930, has any team won the WC in their debut appearance? If not, what is the best record of an debutant team in an WC ?

Gosh we've all gone quiet now.

There's a lot of talk about the ref decisions and is there any talk to using a "third umpire" kind of technology or would it just slow the game up too much?

I've been able to get the matches on our DSL which offers you a sports channel on here.
I can tell you we're proud of Zize as he's from my spouse's hometown.
I would be happy to see Brazil win as well, but, I didn't see any terribly dirty moves. But what do I know?

I think the yellow cards are flying...compared to former games I've seen.

I"m wondering how the France Portugal match will go.

I am VERY tempted to telephone random numbers this evening and just be wrong numbers. Am I cruel or what?
