I normally have the television on even if I am not watching it, I guess having noise in the house can be company of sorts. Anyway, a programme has just finished called 'You've Been Framed', those in the UK will be familiar with it but I am sure other countries hve their own versions, programmes where members of the public send in video clips. You know what I mean?

Now some of the clips are very amusing, particularly those involving animals and even some of those with people. What I don't understand is that the majority of clips involve people getting hurt, some of the accidents are potentially very dangerous - so why are they thought to be funny? Is there something amusing about a baby being knocked over by an adult tripping over it? About a toddler falling into a pond? About a person walking into a window? A person having an accident on a cycle?

I must be missing something.

Oooh, it's like America's Funniest Videos.
I watch it..sometimes. But once you see a person trip, or a baby get poked in the eye, you've seen them all. =P
So it gets repetitive and boring fast.
I only watch it when bored, so it's only once in a while.
But I agree with you for the most part. Seeing a dude get hit in the crotch with a ball can only be so funny, then it just gets annoying.
But from the videos I've seen, nothing looks too painful.
Or maybe it's just me. o.O

What amazes me is that very often instead of trying to rescue that toddler from drowning, the parent will just keep filming!

It can be a painful show to watch...in both ways!

I think that in the early days, and don't forget that many of these shows have been running for many years, there were some genuinely funny clips.

Nowadays, it's just moronic and not even funny. I stopped watching it at least five years ago. There must be something better on telly. If not, and you want some background noise, then turn it off and play your favourite music instead.
