Capitoline Quarinal Viminal Esquiline Caelian Palatine Aventine The Seven Hills of Rome. It took quite a long time, didn't it?

Your clues were just fine, Fringe. I should have understood a lot earlier what these letters stood for - I read about the Seven Hills just a week ago.
Here's another challenge (quite easy this time):
d, r, m, f, _, _, _

Hiya pia, good to see you've found the challenge forum.
I think your sequence of letters stand for musical notes, ending with soh, lah, tee, doh.
Ooops, maybe not, I've just noticed that there are only three letters to find in yours. Unless of course the last do'h was meant to fool us all!!

Izzi ... the order of the letters is not important to solving this teaser ... When I posted the question, I listed them in the order they appear in the alphabet.
My original question: 'What letter is missing from this list ---B, C, E, G, K, Q, S, W ?' ... could just as easily been 'What letter is missing from this list --- B, K, G, W, C, Q, S, E ?' (or any other order I chose to put them in).
The order of the letters IS NOT important to finding the answer --- to solve this teaser you need to find what the given letters have in common, then find another letter that shares the common denominator.
I know this wasn't the answer you were hoping for from me, but it's all I'm willing to give you right now. More help will be coming tomorrow if it is needed.

That'll do nicely for now thanks , it gives us more than enough to ponder on. Don't rush in to give another clue too soon either Elf, the FT Brain Teaser wasn't meant to be solved too easily!!

2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 17, 19, 23 - prime numbers!
So the missing letter must be M (number 13).
