Tomorrow night starts of the Live 8 concerts that is "10 concerts, 100 artists, a million spectators, 2 billion viewers, and 1 message... To get those 8 men, in that 1 room, to stop 30,000 children dying every single day of extreme poverty."

Live8.com

UK – Hyde Park, London
Edinburgh - Edinburgh 50,000 - The Final Push
France – Palais de Versailles, Paris
Germany – Siegessäule, Berlin
Italy – Circus Maximus, Rome
USA –Museum of Art, Philadelphia
Canada –Park Place, Barrie
Japan –Makuhari Messe, Tokyo
South Africa –Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newtown, Johannesburg
The Russian Federation - Red Square, Moscow

London alone has the likes of Coldplay, Dido, Bob Geldolf and Robbie Wiliams with all the other venues having top name stars.

Who is going to be watching it? (it's live on Fox8 in Australia and starts 9:30pm Saturday local time) and will the concerts and publicity from them have any impact on the G8 summit?

Yes I shall be watching all of them if possible.
I remember the Live Aid concert and I watched every bit of it.
Sounds like a great line up.
Here's hoping it isn't for nothing.

I'm so angry... I live in Barrie right now, and the concert tickets sold out in fifteen minutes!!! I was going to go to that.
Oh well... there's always TV.

How big is Barrie? Perhaps you could stand on your roof?

Hehe, Barrie's a bit big though not as big as the other cities. I live a couple streets away, but I still couldn't see it. I was down the road though and I heard Jann Arden, Barenaked Ladies and Motley Crue.

And you would have seen Neil Young closing with "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World"! And a few months after he had a brain aneurysm. And you would have gotten to see a TAPE of Celine. Hmmmm...
