If you send a compliment to a quiz author, thereby bypassing the part where you rate the quiz, does it then receive an 'Excellent' rating? Or does it mean you have not actually rated the quiz?

Whenever I've sent a compliment to the author of a quiz, it ususally opens in a separate window, and when you close it after the message is sent you still have the rating page.

So maybe I've always been too impatient to wait for the rating part to come back up. Oops.

If I send a compliment to a quiz author, I make sure and rate their quiz. I think it's a good idea to reply back to compliments, too, and thank the player for taking time to say they enjoyed a quiz. Hopefully, it encourages the sending of positive feedback to other quiz authors whose quizzes they've enjoyed, too.

I agree with Linda about replying to compliments. Some of my closest friendships here at Funtrivia started with an exchange of compliments.

I have always replied to compliments about my quizzes, if people have taken the time to write to you, you should write back. It's only recently I thought about the rating aspect, I just assumed that sending a compliment gave the quiz a high rating. At least now I know, I can rate the quizzes as well.

I always make a point of responding to any compliments I may get. I figure if a person has been so inclined to make a compliment, it is the very least I can do to acknoweledge the fact, and that I appreciated it

Yep. Several of my closest friendships here also started because of compliments. Probably the closest friend I've made here at FT was actually due to a correction the person sent me, I disagreed, we got to talking and still do almost everyday.
