I just made this up and thought I would share it with you. It's not too tough.

I'm thinking of two common English words that are the opposite of each other. When I add the letters "PL" in front of each word, I get a new common English word. What are the words?

I had an interesting suggestion from ElfTwinkle, that the answer might be "eat" and "ate" which leads to "pleat" and "plate." That's clever, but I don't think that "eat" and "ate" can really be thought of as opposites.

I don't think of them as opposites; I think of them as present and past tense.

I believe I'd think of them as opposites if eat was in the present, and ate was too far in the future, and I was very, very hungry.
