Does anyone remember this programme from the 1960s .. Barry Jones cleaned-up big time. Another name I remember is Frank Partridge. Anyway, this post concerns the following ..

I watched Bob and Dolly every week, but must've missed that episode .. either it was before we had a tv, or it was asked before my time (I'm too young to have watched every episode, lol)
Frank Partridge is another name that rings a bell .. he went all through the questions, and the boxes, like Barry Jones.

Was it Molly who had Barry Jones as his call-a-friend in WWTBAM? What a lifeline!

He regularly pops up on the ABC show, 'The Einstein Factor'- a very clever boy indeed, and one of the few politicians I have any respect for.

I was a bit young to see it, too, and we did not get a tv till about 1974, so missed out both ways.

Did you know that Frank Partridge was also a VC recipient at age 21? (For non-Oz/UK members VC is Victoria Cross - highest bravery award for armed forces)

From memory, (and I was only a child)I think it was about India and their relationship to Britain. He queried the wording and dates.

It was something like..

"Who was the last Governor-General of India?".

A seemingly innocuous question, but our hero questioned the wording- the office was actually called the Governor-General of Bengal. Theoretically, the position mentioned in the question never existed.

Bob Dyer was hopelessly out of his depth, and probably had rather stern words with his writers..

Amazing I remembered something so obscure as that - and it occurred over 40 years ago - and yet I cannot remember something I read yesterday.

Well done Auszev & Ozzz, thanks for that. Funny, I can almost hear Barry fervently explaining and contradicting Bob on that one. I bet though, he was incredible bore at parties!!! Hehehe

I certainly know how that memory feels, Aus - happens to me all the time!
