Have you ever walked out of a movie. I've only really done it once for "Very Bad Things". I just couldn't deal with it, a sordid little movie trying to disguise itself as a black comedy.
Mind you we saw "Hudson Hawk" and "Three Men and a little Lady" in the drive-in and totally ignored the film but that doesn't count as walking out. Hmm should point out that we spent our time talking and throwing pop-corn around and nothing else.

I have a weak stomach, and over the years have left a couple of movies for gratuitous gore and violence.
'Dances with Wolves' comes to mind, as well as the first 'Walking Tall'. I'm learning only to watch films like that on the tv, where I can leave the room if I need to.
We were at a drive-in movie a few years ago watching 'Planet of the Apes' (bad enough) with the kids. I don't remember the second feature, but the third (it was a dawn to dusk night) was 'Say It Isn't So'. Given the ages of the children (11 and 9 I think), we sure got out of there fast enough.

I'd have to really,really,really hate a movie to walk out on it, and I've never done it. It's even hard for me to stop watching a movie that I've rented. I figure,"I paid for it, I'm gonna watch it." But I had to stop "I Heart Huckabees" and "Last House on the Left" Sorry, just couldn't get into either of those. I would've walked out on "A Cinderella Story" but if my best friend hadn't wanted to see it so bad I wouldn't even have gone in the first place. Oh, the things I do for her.

"Talking" I've heard, but "Throwing Popcorn" is a new one on me. :P I've walked out on one movie. I honestly don't remember what it was, but it was the second of a double feature, and was an action movie staring Jean Claude or Arnold or Stalone, I'm not sure which. It was, oddly, paired with a sappy Robert Downey Jr movie, "Heart and Souls", which I stayed to the end of, but only barely.

No, when it comes to cinemas, I've never walked out of a movie. Being the eternal optomist, I always sit there waiting for them to get better, even if they never do!

When it comes to hiring videos or DVDs, if they are not good, I inevitably fall asleep while the rest of the family watches them.

I walked out on a disaster called Kippendorf's Tribe which is the only bad Richard Dreyfuss movie ever made. I had a small daughter who didn't need to be subjected to all the thinly veiled male anatomy sight gags.[nobody should be for that matter!] It was like a two hour male enhancement commercial... shudder.

The only time I walked out of a movie was when I went to see Magnolia, with Ton Cruise, Julianne Moore and many other well known actors. I think it was a combination of the movie being terribly bad (at least to me, anyway!) and also the fact that I started feeling sick midway through the movie, so I just left. I never rented Magnolia to see how it ends, so that shows how little interest I had in it!

I almost left part way through the IMAX version of the movie The Polar Express. Not that it was a bad movie it was just making me so motion sick! Even my son, Ben who never gets queasy said after the movie, "my belly feels funny."

I have also never walked out of a movie at the actual theatre seeing as it costs an arm and a leg just to get in these days (suffice to say I'm very, very choosy about the ones I actually pay to go see). However I did leave a drive-in theatre twice. One time I left after the feature film, "Robots" ended and the stupidest movie ever made, "Dodgeball" came on after it. I think I watched about the first half hour of it and couldn't believe a production company had actually "okayed" that movie. The re-make of the "Stepford Wives" also made me leave. That was just terrible.

Like MG, if I rent a movie from the store and it sucks, I'll usually just turn it off and watch something else or inevitably fall asleep.

Oh, and did anybody else ever see "The Island of Dr. Moreau"? Wow, I rented that movie after reading the book and I just couldn't decide what disgusted me most, the way Marlon Brando looked or the actual movie.

I almost walked out of The Thing (80s version). Just sickening, I thought. I don't mind a little gore here and there but that was a constant display of it. The story was actually good - the visuals another matter altogether. Unfortunately my date liked such films so I managed to stay in my seat. I did walk out on one movie when young. The MacKintosh Man in the 70s. Once I got halfway through I just didn't care how it ended so I left. During a Paul Newman feature, no less! But, then, nobody ever said he was good all the time...

Being a fan of the previous 'Alien' movies, I was hesitant about renting the recently released 'Alien 3000' because it went straight to video. I ended up watching about twenty minutes of it, walked out of the room, walked to Tim Horton's, bought a coffee, and returned near the end of the movie. I'd have taken the movie back, but gas isn't getting any cheaper...

Odd thing is, the only other movie I've actually walked away from is 'The Core'.

I walked out on a movie once. Not because the movie was bad, but because the audience was ill-behaved. The movie was "Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring." Children were throwing popcorn and running around, babies were crying and people were talking on cell phones. On our way out, we talked to the manager, who apologized and gave us a rain check. I really think that people should leave children at home with babysitters unless they can keep them under control. And certainly people should determine whether a move is suitable for children before bringing them. As for talking on cell phones during a movie, that is inexcusably rude.

I've walked out on two.
"Howard the Duck" & "Three Amigos"

I pride myself on giving movies every conceivable chance. I've never walked out of a theatre, and the only rental I've ever left unfinished was the Ethan Hawke version of "Hamlet". There've been a number of movies that I've had to take breaks from, but I always manage to come back and force myself through to the end. Consequently, I've built up a pretty remarkable tolerance for terrible movies, but I've also been pleasantly surprised by a number of unexpected gems!

I've only walked out towards the end of a film when I know it's hopeless. And generally only the worst artsy films prompt to me to leave, plus the fact I can get a good seat if I'm seeing another one after it.

I've never walked out, but I've fallen asleep. Does that count?

It was about 10 or 15 years ago - don't remember the movie, but it must've been as exciting as exciting as watching grass grow, paint drying; or England winning the cricket, lol

If I hadn't been on a date, I'd have walked out of "Eyes Wide Shut"...in a word, ick. I like Nicole Kidman but prefer her to be dressed.

I couldn't finish watching "Gosford Park"...sheesh, what a snorefest.

I've never walked out on a movie at the theater but there are plenty of rentals that I brought home and didn't finish. Heck, when I had a Blockbuster MoviePass I had Passion of the Christ at home for two weeks and never watched it. Still haven't for that matter.

I thought about walking out of "The Purple Rose of Cairo" but changed my mind when somebody beat me to it.

Usually I sit through a movie until the end even if I don't like it. I never actually walked out of a movie theater (heck, I've paid for it!), and I very rarely shut the TV off in the middle of something.
Recently, however, I watched "Reign of Fire" and then couldn't stand it any longer. This is extremely unusual for me because (apart from my habit to endure the worst movies till the end) I absolutely admire Christian Bale, I like Gerry Butler, and normally I enjoy movies that have some well-animated creatures in it (dragons, dinosaurs, etc.). But this one... no! (And I can't stand Matthew McConaughey [sp?], so that might have been a factor, too).
The other I remember not watching till the end was "Trainspotting". It was too weird. Again, it had great actors, but didn't appeal to me at all.
I can't remember more now.

I walked out of "Return to Oz" when I was 5. Actually, I ran terrified!
I *wish* I had walked out of Chris O'Donnell's horrendous remake of "The Batchelor."

I've only walked out of a film once and that was 'War of the Roses'. If the film is boring, I might fall asleep even though the film might be good but just cant help it.

nothing to do with content, gore, theme etc. it was just plain rubbish.

Actually, now that you remind me, I remember walking out on the original Exorcist very many years ago, but the circumstances were extenuating.
I was but a teenager and my mother was terminally ill, and I was in no way prepared for what I was seeing.

Sin City what rubbish and League of extrodinary Gentlemen. Boring.
