Here we go, can Australia come back from the dead and save the Ashes? They certainly dont deserve it, but ohh the pain if they don't.
Simon Jones is out, no idea what the wicket is like, i'm guessing it's going to be a flat flat flat deck. England planning for a draw may actually end up with another win, with Australia having to go all out for a win.
Is Pigeon playing? I assume he is.
Let's hope the rain holds off.

Sounds like someone trying to deflect attention from a soccer loss to Northern Ireland

England off to a great start - Australia are gonig to have to get a couple quick wickets to get some momentum behind them. Bringing in Warne this early looks like a desperte ploy.

A desperate ploy that worked! Treschothick out for 43.

Quick wickets early and Aussies will have fate in their own hands. Fielding has improved lets hope their batting has.

can someone tell Shane Warne that there is sunscreen that rubs in clear and he doesn't have to look like a minstrel every game?

"bad light" stops play ... amazing how much they can see when it suits them. Both teams played that rule a tad loosely.

Kudos to England though for the quick finish to Australia's innings.

Ond day left and it looks unlikey there will be a result.

Mate, I agree with almost everything you've said.....apart from 'bad light'. It's a proven fact in England that you only ever get 'bad light' on the 11th September..not the 9th or 10th, so Christ knows what the Australian Captain was thinking on the previous 2 days?

"One day left and it looks unlikely there will be a result"

Surely there will be a 'result' of some sort?

Personally, I think Shane Warne is the finest fat blonde spinner of all time............You?

Games not over yet. If England get the yips and bowled out for under 200 Aussies may get a chance at a last session slogfest.
Unlikely though.

Just watching the news here prior to the last days play and the lead in was "if anyone can do it, Shane Warne can". I just want to say right now that if Australia wins this because of Shane Warne I shall give up all citizenship of this country and crawl into a dark hole and sing "God save the Queen" for the rest of my life. I know we're all supposed to love him and be all patriotic and have our teams win at all costs but a line must be drawn somewhere!

Well, Warne and McGrath between them have certainly put Australia back into the game. Vaughan, Bell, Trescothick and Flintoff have all been dismissed, and England are still only 133 ahead at lunch.

If Pietersen hadn't been dropped twice, God knows where England would be by now. I presume this is the Aussies' sporting spirit - after all, Pietersen has given their batsmen plenty of second chances!

lol, ain't that the truth, six dropped catches! I fear he is a bit overrated for test cricket but he really is playing a good innings now.

Well, they're not doing so badly. Forty-nine overs to go at the most after tea.

Actually, Tabby, it's 47 overs as they take two off for the change over. How about Australia needing 240 off 40 overs to win? Would you put it past them?

I certainly wouldn't - not after the way they fought back at Edgbaston. I'm going to shut down now and spend the next 3 or 3˝ hours glued to the TV.

Its no good, I am going to have to watch it - the first match I have watched in 36 years and I only watched the last one because I had a boyfriend playing (at least the tea was good).
