I fell asleep. The telephone rang just at the moment the umpire removed the stump, and yes I did answer it.

Give a big hand to the runners-up!

Woot woot, well done England! That has been the best series of cricket I've ever seen and the result will do much for cricket in England and worldwide.

Oops, sorry.

Damn you all - it's supposed to be ours! You're all cheats, abusing the light rule and the substitute fielding rules. If only Glen McGrath wasn't injured for those couple matches you all wouldn't be so smug today!

And if the Aussie batsmen could actually bat, the story would have been MUCH different!

Congrats to 'the old enemy', and that was one of the best series I have ever watched. Hopefully, I can now get some sleep- beats me how they had so many spectators that were at the grounds at 3am!

he he he he......I usually hate cricket, in fact I think it must be one of the most boring sports in the world BUT this Ashes Series was something else. It wasn't boring, stale or slow. Both sides played with passion and it was an edge of the seat experience. This won't turn me into a cricket fan, but it was a joy to watch.

Unlucky to everyone who thought the Aussies would win as usual...and damn...why didn't I place a bet on England to win just like I predicted in the comps !!

Yeah...you guys got to bat eventually for about 20 overs but was interupted due to bad light and than it was too late and the stumps were removed.

We batted- the umpires just pulled stumps in the first over. We were 0/4 facing an impossible target of 342 in about 15 overs.

I am not sure that those spectators knew what they were watching, they were singing Sweet Chariot! It sounded more like a football match, a noisy one.

Best series ever.

Having been at the oval in 1985 - the last time we won the ashes on home soil - i was becoming seriously concerned that i'd cursed England.

However all is now rosey!

Yeah, you do, but WHY do you insist on calling all the players 'Jiminy'?

Congrats, Yank..

What were the odds Agnes? You should have got a good price as we don't exactly have a good record of winning.

Not entirely sure of the odds Sue, but I put 10 quid on England in June, and my friend has been holding my betting slip....he is going to cash it in tomorrow at William Hill, and he told me that he believes it is 65 quid I will get.

Converted to US dollars will be approximately $127. Not bad, at least I don't think so.
