I'm eager to see what happens when that timer reaches zero.
Ever since the episode "Do No Harm", where Jack was about ready to amupate Boone's leg, I haven't liked him; however, with last night's episode, I was "this close" to liking him again, until he pressed the "execute" button. I was in agreement with Jack that nothing would happen when the timer reached zero, but he lost my respect when he went against what he believed in and caved into Locke.
Why doesn't anyone listen to Hurley? I mean the man was yelling in the season finale, "No! Don't light it! No! No! No! The Numbers are bad!" but did anyone (Locke? Jack? Kate?) stop to let Hurley explain? No! In last night's episode, when Hurley was listening to the numbers that Locke was typing in, Hurley said "Dude, I wouldn't do that" and Locke said, "Hugo, this is not the time or place". They act like Hurley is stupid or something!
Locke believes, as did Desmond believe, that they will all die when the timer gets to zero, but come on, Locke and Jack watched the movie reel, does Locke really think that two doctorates from the University of Michigan created a "Doomsday Clock"?
In the "Dharma Initiative" movie, the Oriental doctor said that shortly after arriving on the island, an incident happened. The doctor didn't go into details, but he said that ever since the incident the protocol is that they have to key in the code every 108 minutes. Did the incident involve the Others? Is it possible that the Others killed the people that were in the hatch?
What's up with that witch Ana Lucia? She assaulted a wounded man, who was trying to save their lives. I can't wait for Sawyer to exact his revenge on her, after all she punked him out.
A co-worker of mine said he thinks the hatch has nothing to do with the Others. He thinks that what's happening in the hatch is just a distraction from what's really happening or going to happen. I think I agree with him, Locke's hatch is just a decoy.
I can't wait until next week! Did anyone else see the coming attractions where Jin speaks perfect English?

Okay, maybe I just don't remember this because I haven't actually watched a season one episode since, well, season one ended... but, when exactly did Locke learn that Hurley's real name is Hugo? I didn't think anybody knew that, so when I heard Locke say it, I totally did a double-take. Am I totally blanking out here or do people now know that Hurley is Hugo???
I'm wondering a few things after watching this episode:
1.) Are the people Ana Lucia is working with the other survivors of the plane crash or did she actually wake up alone in the water and get found by them?
2.) If they are the survivors from the tail section, why are they so paranoid? Did Rousseau play "the Others" mind games with them too, in order to make both sets of survivors fear eachother?
3.) Did anybody else think there was anything weird about the film Jack and Locke watched? Aside from the fact that the Asian scientists mouth moved funny while he talked--at the end of the film when he says, "Now do not attempt to use the computer for anything--" the dude gets cut off and is suddenly seen saying congratulations on being part of the project... it looked almost like it was spliced that way, like he said something after the "anything" but "they" removed it and went straight to the "congratulations" part. Weird.
4.) Yet more polar bears! In the film this time they showed two polar bears fighting. These gotta signify something.
5.) Why would a person as seemingly well-adjusted as Desmond was when we first met him in Jack's flashback, so easily believe he has to stick around and press a button to "save the world" just because "Kelvin" told him too? I mean, I'm pretty gullible, but after about a week, I'm fairly sure I would've hit the button to rewind to 108 minutes and take off into the ocean to take my chances with the water and the sharks.
6.)I want to know what Locke knows... he keeps talking into the air as if he expects someone to hear him or answer him "Why are you doing this?!" "What am I supposed to do?!" and etc. I mean, maybe this whole thing is just a sick experiment to see how people react under this kind of pressure, like Jack said, an experiment to see if someone actually would sit there for 540 days and push a button on command... and Locke has figured it out.
7.) What exactly does Locke's father do? The man is filthy rich. Is it really his father or was he just conned by two strangers?
8.) I want to know where the front door of the hatch leads too. How did Kate find her way back to the beach so easily, the hatch is frickin' huge, who knows where she came out.
9.) Anyone else think that one of the scientists who founded the Dharma project look like Hurley with shorter hair and glasses? Man, that was weird too.
Lol, there's so much more that's driving me crazy, but I'll stop here since I'm confusing myself.

In the episode when Claire is having dreams that someone is out to hurt her baby (the episode where she and Charlie are kidnapped by Ethan), Hurley goes to Jack about taking up a census so they'll know who is who on the island. It is then that Hurley says, "Like, Hurley's just a nickname. My real name is Hugo. Why? I'm not tellin'". Jack is the only one who knows that Hurley's real name is Hugo. It seems funny that all of a sudden Locke knew Hurley's name in Season 2, episode 1 when they were at the hatch and in the hatch, but didn't know his name when they were away from the hatch.

I honestly don't think Rousseau is playing a mind game with anyone. Someone did take her baby 16 years earlier.

Something about the hatch bothers me. According to the Dharma Initiative movie, location 3 (the Swan) was made in the 1970's. I honestly don't believe they built it underground, I don't think they buried it, and I don't think a natural event covered it either (a natural event, such as a meteor, a tsunami, etc., would have on the news in all parts of the world)...yet, it's buried underground. How did it get buried?
The numbers...Hurley's numbers...if they are truly just some code that is punched into a computer every 108 minutes, why is so much placed on them? Look what happened to the Australian man who added the numbers up to get the exact amount of beans? His wife's leg was amputated in a car accident, and he walked away without a scratch. All around the man, something bad happened because he used those numbers. Look at Hurley...he played those numbers on the Mega Jackpot, won the money, then his grandfather died from a heart attack, his brother got divorced, his mother hurt her ankle, the new house Hurley bought his mother burned down, Hurley was arrested because he was mistaken for a drug dealer, a man in the office building where Hurley went to find out he was the proud owner of a box company (did anyone catch that one?) fell out a window and died.
If the numbers were just a code to be entered into a computer...The Dharma Initiative...an experiment created in the 1970's...then why are bad things associated with them? There is something more to it...where are the rest of the reels...the bottom of the reel said it reel number 5 of 6...so where are reel numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6?

Well, Locke also called Hurley "Hugo" in the season 1 finale when they were near the hatch. It still doesn't explain how he knew Hurley's real first name though. I really think John is weird. He seems to know more about the island than he's letting on, at least up to them being inside the hatch. I think he is one that we need to watch very carefully in the coming episodes.

I'd have to agree here. A mother who lost a baby 16 years ago and is trapped on a very mysterious island is going to be a little strange. I don't have any expertise in the area, but it just seems that she seems "normal" most of the time. Just my take though.

I think there's a whole lot more that we need to see regarding the numbers and the Dharma Initiative before we can even speculate. I mean this island is definitely not your normal island (very obvious I know). I think we just need to take everything in at this point and "enjoy the ride". There's not enough answers lying around to even be pieced together in my opinion. Maybe that's one of the things that makes it so intriguing.

Last night's episode was cute; I mean it was the one episode where someone actually listened to Hurley, in fact two people listened to him...Rose and Jack. I was shocked that Jack actually let Hurley do what he felt was right with the food. Claire finally got her peanut butter! I was happy to know that Bernard didn't die...how Rose knew, I don't know, but I'm glad she'll finally have her husband back. It's weird that the other survivors found the same thing our survivors found, only their bunker seems like it wasn't completed. Libby said that 23 survived, but when Michael, Sawyer, and Jin saw them, there weren't 23, but rather about eight. Next week's episode promises to be good!

Last night's episode was terrific. I enjoyed learning a little bit more about Hurley and the events between his realizing that he won the lottery, and when other people found out. About the bunker, at first I thought it was the same bunker, and the two groups were going to meet up finally, but it didn't seem to happen......yet. I wonder if it could be different sections of the same bunker, and that neither group have explored every section of it. Maybe that's how they'll meet. I have to believe that they will meet each other eventually, especially finding out Bernard is alive and well. We have to find out the other group's backstories. And I don't think that we will until the two groups meet up and become one big group. That raises another question, if they do meet up and combine groups, who will be the "leader"? It seems as if Ana Lucia is pretty much the leader of the second group, and Jack is definitely the leader of "our" group, but who will win the role? I agree, next week's episode is going to be good (but we can say that about all the upcoming episodes )

The next episode will be Jin-centric, so I guess we'll be learning a bit more from the Tail-group. I'm eager to find out what exactly the hatch is for. I'm expecting that someone won't punch in the numbers by the end of the season, or maybe it'll be the cliffhanger...

Wednesday's episode was the first time I wanted to punch Locke in the throat! How dare he tell Hurley he doesn't get to quit?! Says who? GRRR! I'd been all, "Don't tell me what I can't do!" At this point I must give Hurley props for being completely mellow about it because I would've snapped (and I consider myself a pretty laid-back gal). But I wouldn't have asked Jack's permission, I'd have just done it...'cause that's how I roll. Another person I wanted to punch in the throat: Ana Lucia. Lay off Sawyer, geez! I hope she gets her's. ("It'll come back around") Anyway, I did like some things like Charlie's little tantrum about "flying off the island" and the "chocolate baby"? (I'm not exactly sure what all he said but FUNNY) Also, the scene with Bernard because it totally gave me goosebumps...even though I kinda knew it was coming. And since I'm a sucker for musical montages I really liked the eating scene. Hurley's backstory made me a little sad mainly because of the look on his friend's face at the end. But was he upset because Hurley didn't tell him or was he jealous....? Two quick notes: LOVED Hurley's look when his friend said something about them being good looking. *Adorable* AND the music girl's name: Starla Did anyone catch the face on the milk carton under the "MISSING" headline? Was it Walt?? Looked like him...

I'm wondering if maybe there are 6 seperate bunkers on the island. In the film that Locke and Jack watched, the Asian scientist mentioned that Station 3: The Swan (the bunker Locke found) was set up on that particular part of the island to study the magnetic field. Maybe the island is ginormous and is an anomoly of sorts in terms of environment, magnetic fields, soil quality etc. that the scientists wanted to study... or then again, who really knows?
I loved Hurley in this episode. I always love Hurley 'cause it's just about impossible not too, but he was just great in this episode. His comedic timing is perfect and I almost always wanna give him a big ol' bear hug.
Quote:

Lol, glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. I burst out laughing. Even the way Hurley's friend said the line; like he was so sure. So cute.

Oh... my... God... I just want to dig my nails into that girls throat. I can't wait for her and Kate to face-off. Kate might seem peace-loving most of the time, but the way Ana-Lucia is manhandling Sawyer, and if she comes in and tries to take Jack's place atop the leader board, I'm sure Kate would kick her butt.
Quote:

Okay, I'll admit it, I cried. All these people seem to have these tragic backstories that just break your heart. In terms of backstories, I'm most curious to know:
- What happened to Sarah. From the way Jack broke down when Desmond questioned him about her, you could tell Jack really loved her. But then again, Jack cries a lot compared to most guys on the island... I wonder if he was a June baby?
- Why Kate was running from the law to begin with.
- Why Hurley was in the mental institution.
- Why Ana-Lucia didn't fall into a turbine and messily disappear when the plane broke in half.

I did click on this link and I found part of the hidden message on the board - did you? Can you make it all out? All I could read was:
I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents.
Another hidden message was this one:
If anyone should find this message, please get word I'm alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse...
Sally
Who is Sally? Has anyone else found any hidden messages?
I've also been able to access the seating chart and the only seats that have loaded are Ana Lucia in 42F - when you click on her seat you get a view of the plane breaking up and you can hear Locke saying "We are not the only ones on this island, and we all know it." which ends in an ad for Lost and its airtime. Shannon Rutherford 9F opens part of a map with "Nord" written on it, if you click on her seat again Sayid's ID card appears. Jack Shephard 23A, click on his and Rose's seat lights up 23D (in red) - click on that and a graphic of a wedding ring appears with the sound of her saying that "Bernard started having me hold on to his ring whenever we take a plane trip" 23C lights up in blue without a passenger name but if you click on it a graphic of a beer bottle (?) with a strange logo appears. By the way - does anyone know Boone's first name? It's Carlyle! I didn't know it before, but then maybe I missed hearing it on the show, so perhaps it's just a revelation for me.....John Locke 24D opens a graphic with knives. Edward Mars 27G opens up a graphic to his Marshals Office ID badge - shaky graphic at that. Charlie Pace 29C opens Claire's diary and (with a photo of her and a scratched-out
man's face) then a Driveshaft backstage pass. Clicking on 27H Kate Ryan (also appears in red) - her mug shots and criminal file open.
If you open the link to Pre-flight Check-In the name Ethan Rom appears over eight empty boxes - rearrange the letters to spell "Other Man" in the boxes and a clip begins to play with some dialog that I can't make out. Can anyone else make this out?
There also seems to be a reference to Flight 777 which must play an integral part of story - can anyone share thoughts on this?
If you click on Hurley's numbers at the bottom of the screen a whole new window opens with link to explore Rousseau's Bunker, the Dark Territory, the Black Rock and the Hatch. I've only opened the link to the Hatch but little dots appear on the screen allowing you to click on them to open scenes from last seasons shows. There's lots more to find but it will take more time.....
Also found is a Hanso Foundation website link with the following links:

They do - Others (ooh, Others!) have noticed that as well and have speculated the significance of what that means...

First I had to click on the blinking 'F' next to Economy Class 11-42, once I did this that seat on the chart turned green. Click on the green seat to open up this link now. It always starts with Ana Lucia's seat, then the rest follow. Be forewarned - this is a very slow process....don't forget to turn on the sound!

Last night's episode didn't really advance the plot too much, but it did have it's moments. Gotta love Jin during the fishing scene: mumble, mumble in Korean and then, "Fish". It was cocky, it was confident, and it was funny. What's with Locke's habit of finding people when they're in some kind of distress and having a "heart to heart" with them? It's like no one can just go somewhere and destroy a garden and cry (or what not) without Locke showing up and saying something to the tune of "I know how you feel" and then spitting out some kind of cliche... How is the man always there when someone's upset? Strange though, that it's him since he doesn't seem the kind of guy who could sympathize and cheer you up so effortlessly. Anybody else get a flashback to "The Blair Witch Project" when Jin and Mistereko came across those symbols made from branches hanging from the trees? :::shudder::: That was creepy. But the creepy-factor went way up when the "others" were seen walking by. They moved so funny, and what about that little teddy bear that was seen being dragged by a string. I couldn't tell if it was a child dragging the bear or not, but wow, that gave me chills. My favourite line of the episode: "Next day, Buster crapped out a buck 35 in nickels." Lol. Talk about the dog that keeps on giving.

Last night's episode was kind of creepy. I counted twelve pairs of legs, including the one dragging the teddy bear. The Others walked like they were high-stepping, and what did Eko say? "They don't leave tracks." I honestly think that the person dragging the teddy bear was Walt, not Rousseau's teenaged daughter of 16 years. The last person seen walking was on the thin side (you could tell by the legs) and you were able to see the person from the waist down, which gave the person a "young" appearance. Eko told Jin that Michael crossed above the Others...meaning Michael was far ahead of the Others. Grant it, Michael was yelling Walt's name, and never got a response. Seems to me that if it was Walt dragging the teddy bear, maybe he doesn't know his own name anymore (brainwashing, maybe?). Maybe the Others have him on a short leash and threatened to kill his father if he responded. It is also kind of weird how fast Jin is picking up the English language. There was a time when he couldn't say anything! And Ana Lucia...ready to leave Sawyer in the jungle! How dare she! Why don't they all gang up on her and knock her off her dictatorship! That broad really runs my nerves!

Its true that Anna Lucia is kinda annoying now, but I think its obvious that she is going to develope a close relationship with Sawyer. He's a rebel who needs a strong woman to tame him. Of course, Anna Lucia is going to have to contend with Kate, who showed in this episode how strongly she feels for Sawyer. Can anyone say catfight!!!

Can anyone say catfight!!!
And how completely awesome would that be? Although, I'm not a big fan of either character I'd have to root for the lesser of two evils and go with Kate on that one. Even though my annoyance tolerancy grew dangerously low when she was reading the messages in the bottle.....is annoyance a word?
ANYWAY,
Did anyone else think Sawyer was a little inconsistent? When he was the only one in the pit, he said he wouldn't climb up the rope until he knew his "friends" were OK but then when Jin wanted him to help find Michael, he refused. I thought you guys were friends, Sawyer! This made me love him much less and also, the writers need to make up their minds.
Also, 1.)I need some Claire and Charlie interaction. I am seriously going through withdrawl. (Hi ho!) 2.)Why do we have to wait three weeks for a new episode? And THIS was the episode they are going to leave us with until then?? For shame. 3.)The preview for the next episode said, "One survivor will be lost. for. ever." OK, seriously, enough with people dying. Unless they're the Others.....or Ana Lucia.
