I've been searching unsuccessfully for a couple of weeks now for the definition of Ballibuntl --- I have found a couple of references to the word, but nothing that tells me what the word means.

Does anyone here know what Ballibuntl means?

I found this meaning, at this site

"balibuntal or ballibuntl [NY NOTE: yes, that's ...b-u-n-t-l!] n -S [bali- fr. Balinog, a town on Luzon, Philippines) + Tag buntál talipot-palm fiber, hat made of talipot-pal fiber] 1 : a fine lightweight straw of glossy smooth buntal 2 : a hat made of balibuntal"

I had never heard of the word before

I think you had trouble because it is usually spelt with one 'l'. TRY HERE
