In brief, fire has destroyed Aardman Animation's warehouse, which contained sets and models for all the company's productions ("Wallace and Gromit", "Chicken Run", "Creature Comforts" etc).
Aardman Story I applaud Nick Park for putting on a brave face at having all that work destroyed, and agree that in the world context it is 'no big deal'. However, I find it very sad and I am particularly incensed at the manner in which I found out about it. A TV News 'Update' used the story - including footage of the fire - as the end-of-bulletin, light-hearted 'human interest' story. I am constantly amazed at people's lack of taste and compassion, and particularly at what the 'media' decides is 'important news'. Now, if there had been any
Australian claymation models destroyed, that would be a totally different story...!
