retrogirl Enthusiast Registered: Thu Jan 25 2001 Posts: 249 Loc: a galaxy far, far away	i have to have popcorn and a soft drink (preferably pepsi, but coke will do in a pinch) before i even think about sitting down watching a movie. there's just something about chomping down on movie theater popcorn and then washing it down with soda. i don't know how it is elsewhere, but around here, when you order a small or medium drink, the counter person will say "for just a quarter more, you can have the next size drink". i usually say no thanks, because i figure they'll just fill it with more ice instead of liquid. We used to bring Sugar Daddy's because they lasted through a double feature. ten cartoons,and an endless parade of coming attractions.But of course what really did it for me was during the summer when you would first walk in and that mixture of air conditioning and the smell of popcorn PA-RA-DISE

The risks are too great, so eating during a film is out. God, was that cynical or what? (By the way, nachos and a Sprite are good when you are feeling a little sick to your stomach!)

JennyC Explorer Registered: Sun Mar 25 2001 Posts: 61 Loc: Nsw Australia	Why does everyone like popcorn at the movies - not for me I loved the old Jersey Toffee, it got stuck in your teeth and to the roof of your mouth but it tasted absolutely delicious - why can't we buy it now! I remember kids rolling Jaffas down the aisles - there was no such thing as carpet on the floors. I can also remember the flickering sound of the projector (thats why we called the movies 'the flicks') and when the projector broke down all the kids would sing out 'put a penny in it'. I loved it. Bring back my childhood.
