Is there any significance in the number 375 in regard to total quizzes played? I believe that at 500 quizzes, players no longer have their scores counted unless they become gold members or create a certain number of quizzes, but 375 also seems to be significant.
I first came across this number a couple of months ago, when looking at a player's blurb. They had an unusual, and to some people it would be offensive, player name which was a combination of the name and a number. Checking similar numbers I found there were 6 or 7 players with the same name and a slightly different number, and that all the accounts had been opened within a few weeks, and all had played 375 quizzes. I reported this unusual 'coincidence' to an editor, and I understand it has now been investigated.
Out of interest, I sometimes check the stats of leading players in the Global Challenge - merely to see how well players can do - and the number 375 comes up far more frequently than any other in the personal stats, number of quizzes played.
I'm not at all suggesting there is any cheating going on, and in fact the number occurs with players from around the world, but it does seem an unusual coincidence.
Is there any significance in 375, or is it just co-incidence?
I randomly checked the blurb/stats of about 30 high scoring players earlier today and found six had played exactly 375 quizzes. If an editor would like to check the details, please mail me privately, and I can send the player names. I repeat, though, that I am not in any way suspicious of these players, merely idle curiosity!

I would suggest that you send the list of names to gtho4, he can make the necessary investigations and take action if it is warranted. If you send the information to an editor they will still have to pass the information on to gtho4 for action to be taken.

At 375 quizzes, I was informed that I would have to become a gold member or none of my scores would ever count again, and i would, in effect, be "frozen" at 375. I did become a gold member and have been very happy with the extras it gained me. However, I note there are plenty of non-gold members whose quiz numbers are above 375 and are still increasing.

This may answer your query as to why there are so many scores stopped at 375, but also raises the question of why some stop at this number and others do not. Perhaps it depended on whether your tally was over 375 at the time the decision was made to set this limit.

People who have been gold members in the past but are no longer gold members would probably also have numbers over 375.

I believe that I can help in this. I think that if you have made over a certain number of quizzes, I'm not sure about the exact number, then you are judged to have 'contributed' enough to FT, to have your quizzes stored past 375 (used to be 400), even if you are not a gold member, at least that's what happened to me. Of course that could be because of the sheer brilliance of my quizzes, , but that's what I think.

I thought the benchmark was 500. If, as it seems I'm wrong, then these answers explain the 375's. As I said in my original posting, I don't have any suspicions about cheating, but was merely curious.

Aramis, one other thing that can keep scores counting is if a player has five quizzes online. I am not an editor, but I'm sure the quality of the quizzes must be pretty good to get them online. The benchmark was 500, then later dropped to 400, and now it seems to be 375.

Leau78 is also correct in the fact that a player may have become a gold member, then the membership expire.

Yes, I know that players' scores continue to be counted if they've created a certain number of quizzes, and in fact referred to this in the first para of my original post. I just hadn't realised the benchmark line had dropped from 500 to 375. I understand now and no problemo.
