Well, I re-added myself to the map. I know I did it before, but I somehow disappeared...

I think it's that moveable pin that I mentioned earlier, because that's what happened to me. I think anybody can move it and there's a different way to add yourself.

I am on there now, too!

I've just looked at the latest additions and realised if you join frappr then it displays your frappr name which often is a different one from here.

I spotted some I recognised but think it's possible to caption each photo so it can have your name here on it if it varies from the frappr one. Otherwise there are quite a few faces that members will be scratching their heads over but are often very familiar if you know the FT names.

I've also noticed quite a few with no names at all. I haven't had to do it as mine correspond but is it possible for each person to check their entry in members and photos to see if their FT name is displayed and if not see if it can be put in?

I don't actually have a Frappr account, I just used a random pin, which unfortunately anyone can move but no-one seems to have moved yet.

I put 'Ella (Lioness_33)' as my name, so people know who I am.

I just used a random pin, too, so if you get mad at me you can move me to some uninhabited island in northern Canada.

I can't find the map - it says 404 for me!

I got the same 404 error...the site is now like a Google site.

Frappr sold out to Platial in 2007 who closed the site in February 2010.

However, there IS still a place where you can have a similar experience. I took the liberty of setting one up (and added myself) at the following link:

Since I just set it up 5 minutes ago (and haven't a clue if I did it properly), could someone try accessing it to see if you can add a marker?

Note: at the top of the page it says to click on the map to add a marker (I had to double click). The alternative is not to click, but instead, type in your location in the search box.

I've added mine to the map, but it put me downtown. I'm north of downtown a bit.

OOO, that pin's sharp!

I think if you zoom in first, before placing your marker, you can get really close. Not sure I recommend it, but I can actually pin my HOUSE, not just the neighbourhood. I chose a nearby park instead lol.

According to the options I picked in the setup, all visitors can edit/delete/resubmit their own markers and can, should they wish, upload/attach jpg's to same. If that's NOT the case, please let me know.

Anyway, glad to find out it actually works, so thanks you folks above!
