I was wondering if there was a place to find out the queue length for crosswords like there is for quizzes.

There is not, at present, such a place. The waiting time varies, as it does with quizzes, because (as you know) all of the editors are volunteers.

I did notice that you appear to have submitted your quiz to the wrong category, emj. Moving it to the correct category, where an editor who is familiar with the subject matter can see it, might well speed up the process.
