I really loved this movie. Does anyone want to share what their opinion of what the movie was trying to get across? How did/or if this movie affect your life?

Where is everyone this weekend? I hope those that haven't seen the movie went out and rented it.

From what I can tell, you're stuck with the title. You can edit everything else, but not that field.

I haven't seen the movie, yet. It looked kinda strange to me when I saw the previews. Then, I heard that it was really (not the word I'm really looking for, but I can't think of the one I want) sacreligious. It just didn't really appeal to me.

Did you like it? Why or why not? Sell me on it or steer me away - what did you think?

Linda, it's been a while since I've seem it but I don't recall it being sacreligious. It basically boils down to one person's idea of death and the afterlife. I wouldn't say that it's for everyone, there were certainly some scenes that can make you feel quite "uneasy". I'm afraid that it would be a very difficult movie to discuss if you haven't seen it.
I happen to like Robin Williams and picked it up at the video store based on that. As it turned out, it was a little more intense than what I was looking for that night. Although it was thought provoking, in all honesty I can't say that it's changed my life.

I picked it up too because Robin was in it. I found the movie thought provoking. Especially where robins daughter is in the other world and she chose to be of oriental decent because her father (Robin)had once smiled at an oriental flight stewardess and made the comment on how pretty she was. I felt, that she felt, that she was never pretty enought to attract her fathers attention. I found so many wonderful things in the movie that I would be here all night sharing them with you. I have to admit that the movie leaves a feeling of violence without any really being in it other than the under world. I will say that I have found that it is a movie that men and woman have enjoyed together, meaning that usually a woman like a film and a guy doesn't and visa-versa but this one both usually enjoy. OR they don't.

Sandalwood, I have to appologize. It has been a while since I've seen the movie. Now that you've mentioned it, I do remember that part as well as some others that I'd misplaced in my memory. Unfortunately, as time has gone by, some of the more tender scenes have been lost behind the screenwriter's visions of the under world. I'm afraid that his interpretation of eternal damnation has managed to overshadow many of the other somewhat more subtle messages. Again, that might have been a night when I would have been better suited to watch a "check your brain at the door" flick; maybe something with Leslie Neilsen (sp?). I have to admit however, you've renewed my interest. I might have to give this one another chance. At least this time I'll know better what to expect. I would also agree with your statement that both men and women can find something in this movie. (Not all guys only go for Bruce Lee or Jean Claude VanDamme flicks, yaknow ;-)
Heh, you have just given me an idea for a new post on this same board. Check it out; I'd be interested in your reply.

Jollymon, Please do see the movie again. There are a lot of hidden life lessons in this movie. Keep watching for them. It made me look at myself.I learned to really watch what I said and how I said it.To emphasize the positive and that it was really important to remember that what we say to other people stays with them in their hearts. Also how distructive focusing on negative in our lives can be.

Sandalwood, I will see this movie again. After such a heart felt review, how could I not. Your passion and insight is appreciated and envied. I only hope that I can see it with eyes as clairvoyant as yours.
Thanx,

Sandalwood, thanks for thinking about me.

No, I'm afraid I haven't had an opportunity yet, but believe me, you WILL be the first to know when I do. I've been so caught up in my daily "life" that I haven't had a chance to do much of anything that I really WANT to do.
I'm HOPING for this weekend but I'm afraid that there are no guarantees.
