Ridiculous, isn't it? My husband has named this non-season we are having 'Spummer' - a couple of weeks ago I was wandering around in shorts and a singlet (please don't dwell on that image! ) thinking about turning the fan on. Hate it a lot - pick a season and stick to it already!

After all that white stuff last weekend, it is absolutely pouring rain here today.

It's more horrible if it's in Dallas, ren. I can tell you that.

The first official day of winter here isn't until Dec 21st. But it's shown it's ugly head long before that!

Well we're hovering right around 0, have that light dusting of snow (with more promised) and very high winds. Actually it sounds an awful lot like last weekend. Hard to believe that we had torrential rain and temperatures hitting double digits in between!

You cannot please everyone at the time, or can you? Dubai, as you know, tends to be a rather warm place with temperatures reaching well above 40C in summer. They now have a ski resort, they are making snow. See the article here
I guess that makes everyone happy, the sun lovers and the winter sports fanatics.

Not looking forward to the icy, snowy mess we are expected to have here later today. It's just shy of 3am and nothing yet, but by 3pm it will be a different story, starting as ice then changing to 1-4" of slushy snow. Yuck! (Especially with drivers not used to this kind of weather)

I went to get some warm woollies from the shops today to prepare me for the agonies of 17th December... next step is the boots.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, it is steamy hot. Sydney got 39C today (about 101F), with very hot winds, and humidity hovering around 85%. The predicted thunderstorm did not eventuate... This time last week, it was only about 19C.. welcome to spring in Sydney-town.

Bah fooey! We don't have any white stuff either, it was just that particular day and as it is so rare here, worth a mention. Having said that, it is cold, well I think it is cold. 8.8C at present.

We're at -12 celcius right now, but it might warm up to -7 by the end of the day. No fluffy white stuff, although my family, who lives 2 hours away, got a couple of feet of the stuff on the weekend.

We've got about 2 inches on the ground here, now, accumulating over the last week with no melt. It's been pretty cold except when it snows. Last night it was -12 F (wind chill), which translates to -25 C or so. That's with a 10-20mph north wind. The wind died down a little, though, so now it's not quite as cold. Roughly -13 C, but feels like -20 C with the light wind. And more snow on the way. Scratch that, I just looked out the window. It's snowing now.

A skim of snow on the ground here, just enough to make it look pretty - maybe two or three inches. Gettng cold, though - temp down to minus 25 C last night, up to minus 14 just now, with no wind, so it's actually very nice out.
Skim?? Round here (down south!) 2 or 3 inches counts as 'deep'! Enough to close schools and cause general chaos.
