As we have the male hair thread it only seems fair to have one for them to post about us!

So guys, is it true that gentlemen prefer blondes? If so is there any diference in your eyes between natural blondes and those who have had a little help?

Where do I fit in the equation? I used to have brown hair but have turned silver, naturally, and did so at an early age.

I don't like blondes. Brunettes or reds are definitely best, mainly because I tend to associate blonde-ness with brainlessness. Shame really, but I do find brunettes and reds a lot more attractive as a rule. Blondes may have more fun, but because they're delirious.

I've been blonde, brunette and redhead - I've been every colour! And always had fun!

My profile pic is a smaller version of this picture of me, and is an accurate depiction of my natural hair color in summer. (And those were my natural curls too! I lost them during pregnancy. Oh, how I miss them!!) I spend a lot of time in the sun, and it lightens up quite a lot. In winter, it's a much darker brown, provided I have had a hair cut recently. Of course, never mind my little silver streaks. I only have a few. But I intend to grow old gracefully. I earned every one of these grey hairs!

What beautiful curls, Lothruin. My hair went a bit berserk after each pregnancy. It went from fine and wavy to thick and straight, Those blasted hormones! I must admit at the sight of each 'silver thread among the gold, (or erm dirty blond) I have a fit. I definately will not be one of those 'grow old gracefully' types. I truly wish I could be. But I'll go kicking and screaming into middle age.

I don't have a hair color preference in women. In fact..my wife doesn't let me have any preference in women.

My husband pays more attention to eyes than hair, and fortunately for me, he likes brown eyes. But, he grimaces every time I suggest I could try blonde hair, so at least I know he wouldn't like ME as a blonde. I don't mind that he has preferences about women, nor do I mind that I don't meet all of them.

Hubby once told me when we were first talking to each other that he normally doesn't care for blondes, but made an exception for me because I am special. Aww... not sure if it is true, or if it was a line, but it worked.

Moo, my best friend's husband's preferences are for blondes with neither small nor large...um...outy bits and healthy, trim weight, and he likes short hair. His wife has very long, very dark hair, is well-endowed and is on the pudgy side. She jokes that body-wise she meets almost none of his previous criteria, so obviously he must love her very much.

Like Miss Bally's, my hair has changed with every pregnancy. It is actually a little curlier now than it used to be [ along with a whole lot greyer.]

I think there are enough different kinds of men in the world with such varied tastes...to say one shade of hair is vastly more popular doesn't make sense. I have found that the men who really like my hair- really do. And the ones who are indifferent - don't care one way or the other.
I was always a light, natural blonde till I was about 25...then it started to darken. But it easily lightens out in the sun each summer. Now it has streaks in it - some I put in myself, some [ grey] ones were put there by dealing with teenagers and mortgages.

I can understand that, Lothruin. I think very few men actually end up marrying a woman who fits the criteria he has as a 'perfect' woman.

I wonder if the preference for blondes is based on the fact that blondes are perceived as dumb, and therefore would make the man appear to be intelligent in contrast. Hmm.. something to ponder.

That's why it's fabulous to be a smart blonde! I especially love it when some jumped-up little sales clerk makes assumptions, based solely on my appearance, that he can tell me anything and I'll believe it. Because then when I start talking and show that I've forgotten more than he ever knew on whatever subject he's decided to 'wow' me with, it's often more of a slap in the face than an actual slap in the face! This is especially effective in computer stores - actually any electrical retail - and of course hardware stores.

I find that the same is true for brunettes, kstew. I love walking into the hardware store and having some old man start explaining things to me... Always so funny to see their faces when I calmly explain that I know exactly what I want, how to use it, what I plan on using it for and that I don't, in fact, need their help beyond pointing me to the right aisle.

I was a blonde when younger, but my hair has faded quite a bit over the years. Pregnancy had a lot to do with it - I have been known to say that I gave my blonde to my kids. (If you could see my son, this would hit home - he has albinism, so his hair when born was pure white. It has darkened over the years, and he now has a head of the curliest, thickest, platinum blonde hair - he has never been for a haircut without everyone in the place coming over and looking at his hair, all the women sighing and envying).
I've started greying in the last couple of years, and actually I like it quite a bit; it has lightened my hair back to near where it was when I was younger. My grey is sprinkled all through the hair (which I wear quite long, by the way) and I'm very happy with it.

As for men going for 'types' - I am a tall blonde with long hair. I have noticed over the years that every woman that my husband knows and likes - whenever he stops to talk to a female aquaintance on the street for instance, she is a tall blonde with long hair. Any of his old girlfriends that I have seen pictures of - yup. I'm pretty sure that if I ever want him to leave me, all I'd have to do is to dye my hair dark, or worse, red, and get one of those overly-disciplined "helmet head" 'dos!

I`m not sure if I qualify as a gentleman but then I prefer brunettes with green eyes anyway.
The new Miss World from Iceland is a brunette and has green eyes. Her pic can be found here along with many other photos of pretty women so people can decide if they really do prefer blonds.

To many to choose from but for me the ones I prefered from each geographic group were..Asia Pacific; Vietnam
Nothern Europe; Poland
Southern Europe; Bosnia and Herzegovina. though it was a tough call between most of those in that group.
Americas; Panama
Africas; South Africa
Carribbean; Bahama
All nice looking but they really look like kids to me.

DSR, I've got green eyes and I've been a brunette lots of times. However, I'm not available! (LOL)

I think the woman from India is beautiful. She reminds me a little of my friend, Snowy. (That's her nickname.) She's a brunette with green eyes. Lovely girl, one of my best friends. She's almost as pretty as my sister. (I hope I'm the only one who knows what it's like to be the ugly one! Even though I was always the older, but not by much, I was always so-and-so's sister or so-and-so's friend. Hmph. Strangly, I'm also the only one who's found a man worth having. I guess there is that song about never making a pretty girl your wife. )

I have to admit I prefer dark hair on most women. I've known too many women who go light, whos' coloring just doesn't hold it well. Darker hair is a little more versatile, as I've known a lot of people with lighter hair that can go darker with no ill effects. But it might also be that I'm dark-haired, and so I'm biased.

Speaking from a very personal point of view, gentlemen prefer women!
