I love being ruthlessly bored by peoples chain games addiction stories .... Well, nearly. I just love having such a variety of different people, their views and opinions, at my fingertips. Made some wonderful friends here who I never would have met except for this site.

Both really, Aramis. The site wouldn't be what it is without the quizzes, forums and other features. Together they are part of what makes it a viable choice for so many people. Good old Copago.

I love the fact that this site is one made by everybody and that those who contribute to it are the type of people who appreciate the nature of the site. I think getting rid of the vandals, troublemakers, and cheaters also helps to make this site one of the best.

*I haven't offered up one of my little "life slice" things lately and this seems like a pretty decent opportunity to do so. I'll apologize in advance for it * What I like about this site? Let me start by saying: the other day I drifted over to the Global Challenge (after some quizzing and Chaining and reading the Forums and so forth). I forget the category I was in but something happened. Don't ask me what but it was odd. My brain snapped off after maybe question 3; I have no recollection of completing the list of 15. When the 'lights' came back on my mouth was numb and hanging open with this horrific goop flowing out. I didn't really panic (strange things happening such as that are becoming a regular feature here in Gatsby-land) but once I got myself together I looked at the screen. Without even remembering any of it I had gotten 14 right! Huh? I'm not sure what that means but the part of my brain that I know about was gone yet somehow a piece of it remained at the fore. Typically, were it not for the matters in place at this site I wouldn't have known that. How could I not appreciate a location that reminds me when my brain in "on" even when it is functionally "off"? I'm not making light of a likely small stroke - I'd never do that. But, if I'm going to have them, what better place to do it? Among friendly, smart and kind people AND while trying to mysteriously figure out how I answered questions about Yu-Gi-Oh (whatever it even is!)? Who knows? But if my gray matter really is going to close up shop for good reasonably soon, and I have no real reason to think it won't, better it comes to happen here where everything ticks, where nothing is so bloody urgent or scary, where there is something blissfully safe in just being aware. Just a trivial playroom to some, I reckon. It's a much bigger place to be than that for me and I can think of no higher praise to give anything. And I don't even feel edgy sharing that around here. That's another huge plus. Oh, and I also will quickly say that I hope this little island on the planet that is FT never takes on such a peculiar vitality for others as it has for me. But, if it ever does, let me assure that you could do much worse. Now that I sound like the most pathetic human being on Earth ...

This site means a lot to me. Though in the forums I often do not write for lack of confidence (but I answer 'in my head') or just to tired - mentally and physically - to do it. It also keeps me involved with the outside world and love reading what other people are doing and thinking.
The quizzes are important as it is a way of keeping my mind active and I need to hold that I can still fathom out some answers to something intellectual (some days it takes a lot more time and effort than others). When my illness caused cognition reasoning to become substandard and it was even hard to understand what I was reading doing quizzes provided me a way to conquer and incentive. Also provides a base line to gauge my current capabilites and not what I perceive them to be.
Most of all it is my way to escape, relax and chill out (when the stresses of kids and government agencies get all too much). I feel like a worthwhile person (not someone's wife or mother); there is more to life than cleaning, washing, and there is another world other than this house and caring for children.
And when you get a compliment for a quiz it makes you feel that at least someone appreciates you and what ability you do have. In short, maybe it provides the recognition and appreciation that everyone desires, but families and others often forget to give.

Let me start by saying that I lack self confidence and that talking in groups fills me with dread. Strange, but my career required me to do this regularly in front of national and international groups. I was awarded the best speaker honor on several occasions and, no, I didn't speak in front of deaf, blind people! (wise guys). It was international health care groups.
Fun Trivia permits me to appear before thousands while still in my underwear. I don't get dry mouth or terminal perspiration.
I am also surprised by people's reaction to some of my posts. Admittedly I have a twisted sense of humor....."the folks in charge of Kwanzaa want to expand the holiday as followers increase. Several carols will be updated for the purpose. "What Child Is This?" will now be known as "Who Dat", and "Do You Hear What I Hear?" will become, "Say What?" Sorry, but I think it's funny.
There was a poster here who I swear usd to sit in front of his computer and just wait for me to post something. Then he'd attack, not only the topic but also my choice of words, my conclusins, my behavior, my lack of understanding. Fortunately he hasn't been around for a while.
My sense of humor is twisted and unique, but I would never intentionally hurt anyone and have and will apologize if I unintentinally offend or hurt you.
I like to make people laugh; FunTrivia maks that possible. For that, I'm grateful.

There are so many things that I like about this site, it would be hard to place one above the others. I like the people, the topics of conversation in the Forums (I got to learn things about Serbia through Roo's visit), the Global Challenge, taking quizzes and writing quizzes. I'd have to say that one of the things that I enjoy the most is working with quiz writers. When you see someone progress from a rank beginner to a really strong contributor, it's a really warm feeling.

So many things... And like Gatsby, in an almost six-year story it'll be hard not to include a small slice of life history as well.
I originally was looking for trivia answers the day I got my computer, and this was top of the list and the place I could ask questions and get answers, which I got in a matter of hours, many which had been waiting for years to find, and also answer questions. I then disappeared myself as I found a supernatural forum and 'lived' there for a year or so. But I knew FT was here when I needed more answers and when I returned Ask FT had arrived and I became diverted there for a while as it was so quick to reel off questions and give answers. I never disappeared again, and returned to the forums after a while though only being on metered time I didn't stay online beyond my specific purposes, until I was offered a flat rate deal in 2003 and the first thing I did was read all the threads I hadn't before, and join in discussions everywhere as well. It took about three days before the PMs started coming in and I got to know people as well as simply sharing facts as I did before. As Sue said, the people were my kind of people, and the site has a format that allows us to interact in every possible way to get closer (OK, and sometimes a bit of fur flies, but it will in every family) and this is really my second family now, it just happened naturally and though some people come and go, the place remains the same.

I love creating, editing, and playing the quizzes. My favorite forum is Movies & Television, the Editors Forum, the Staff Lounge, the Lounge (when they were here, I liked Controversial Issues and the Zoo forum).
I like the fact that in the forums, on any given day, you can find intelligent people from all over the world who don't act like they're superior to you (with the exception of one or two).

Everything really. Though I am by no means a frequent poster on Forums, due to time constraints among other things, FT has become such a part of my daily life, that I can't really spend a day without logging on. Any longer, and the withdrawal symptoms start to kick in. (foremost among these the desire to start asking someone, somewhere, anywhere, some obtuse trivia ) I'm also a global challenge person (used to play the hourlies a lot, but now, it's only the GC), and was among those obsessed people who used to spend hours playing all 19 games back in the good old days. Love the Answer section too, can't get enough of the brilliant questions that some people ask, and it always gives me a thrill to actually be able to grasp, if not answer some of them. It really doesn't end, actually. I can't seem to find a part of site that I don't like.

"you learn so much. (I saw a bottle of Vegemite in the grocery store the other day and knew what it was.)" LOL that cracked me up. My first reaction was 'my work here is done!' Toadette, please join with me in the chorus, "we're happy little vegemites as bright as bright can be"

It was in Zehrs the other day. I thought it was bread machine yeast. I'll buy some the next time my Kiwi sister-in-law comes to visit.
