Rats we don't have a Zehrs. That tells me that you live in a smaller city, because, unless I miss my guess, Zehrs only cultivates that market.

It was the quizzes that brought me here in the beginning, now it's the people here that keep me coming back. Even though I don't have a lot to say I still feel a part of the group. I like to think I'm a good listener.

Try Fortinos (it's the same company)

Thanks but I do shop at Fortinos, and have never seen Vegemite. But I will henceforth keep my eyes peeld for it!

I got hooked on the quizzes as a guest but no way was I going to give my ISP email to an internet forum. I stayed at some VERY busy forums for years because of a lot of good people I met. But they were run and frequented by nazi psyhos. Just a couple will destroy a whole community. Many of us got kinda shell shocked.

So I was very gun shy when I found this place but I watched and I haven't seen any uncivilized behaviour directly due (IMHO) to the high rate of feline involvment! Now that I'm here? I'm grateful for the ISP email condition. In fact I think I'VE caught some bad habits from other places and being here is helping me to feel safe and relaxed again when I'm online. Not taking offense as easily.

So I registered because I wanted to talk books.

Then I got lost in the chain games.

I'll start poking around eventually, once Gats has me litter trained in the chain games.

Thanks toadette, I looked, I saw and I bought some vegemite at Fortinos.
I have one thing to say to you Aussies,
"How do you guys eat that stuff?" *shudder*
My son was the one who came the closest to liking it, but even he said he'd never eat it again!

Is this stuff anything like something I think was called, Marmite? I remember all the Brits going into mourning when the company sold the name but I know its still made.

If its the same stuff? I used to used it when I fried liver. Add it to the frypan after and with water and onions it made a gravy. Got it from a health food book when I was a teenager. Wasn't bad, considering what liver tastes like without it.

Vegemite is the rip off of Marmite, a poor substitute of course.

Oh dear, Trifle, what have you done? You've reopened the old Marmite vs. Vegemite debate again!

One of the things I like best about FT is the fact that everyone writes (or at least tries to write) proper English, without chat speak and other assorted horrors. On some of the other forums I've seen it's nearly impossible to find a punctuation mark or a capitalised letter in people's posts. I'm glad everyone here takes the time to write in full words and normal sentences. It makes it so much more fun to read what someone has to say if you don't have to guess. And it makes it a lot easier for me as a non-native English speaker to participate in the forums!

As for which part of the site I like best, that's hard to say. It's probably a tie between the forums, the Friends Board, editing quizzes and playing the Global Challenge.

Debate? No contest in my opinion.
