First of all I wanted to reply to this message in "Deleting Posts" but could not find a way to REPLY? HUH?

Anyhow, Russ05 (I think) said: I forget, that this forum is 24 hrs per question, time seems so limited to me, I feel like I need all the answers now.

I forget...

What does that mean? Are posts deleted after 24 hrs? I don't understand and is that why I can't reply to the thread?

Russ was being sarcastic and is no longer active in these forums.

You can't reply to that thread because it is locked, it ws not supposed to be a discussion thread.

I am afraid if you expect instant answers you might be frustrated. The members and staff here are from all over the world and there are such things as time zones. At the time of writing this it is 12.40am and I want to go to bed. The only reason I haven't gone already is that I saw you writing your message and knew it ws needing to be moved to the correct forum so I waited for you to finish.

The person best able to give you the reply you want is Terry and although he is here a lot, it is not 24/7. You will find that he has actually given an answer to a similar question and I have linked to that thread for you.

We just ask that you have patience and remember that we are volunteers, you will be answered but not necessarily in the next ten minutes! Sometimes it takes a day or two, sometimes it takes a minute or two.

Sue thanks, I have been hanging around message boards/forums for years and know how it goes, that is why I prefer them to chat rooms...you can read and answer all in your own good time. I am patient, that's not a problem.

I'm afraid you misunderstood my question, I saw his post about the 24/7 thing and was just curious as to what it meant...I thought it meant there was a time limit to how long a thread would remain on the boards or something like that. That's not true, right?

Also, what do you mean about that particular thread not supposed to be a discussion thread? What other kind would there be?

There are always differences on various boards, different setups, different guidelines, etc...so I need to learn exactly how this one works, I guess.

Also, 2 other things.....how do you 'see that I'm writing a post'? And I do not see a link to the other discussion that you mentioned.

Thanks for answering so quickly....hopefully you'll get some good sleep tonight. It's almost 8 PM here in Florida and I'll be around for awhile tonight.

Nutty

I moved your post to Feedback and Terry has responded to it already.

Who's Online shows where people are and what they are doing. If a person is 'invisible' then only the administrators can see them. I could see that you were composing a message in The Lounge and knew it belonged in Feedback if it was concerning a private tournament which is what you mentioned in the Welcome Center.

Some of the posts anchored to the top of forums are for information, not for discussion. Russ had been deleting his posts once people had responded to them, it made a complete nonsense of the threads so that notice was to ask people not to delete their posts once they has responses, he then became sarcastic - the thread was locked.

If you click the 'Who's Online' link at the top of the page, you are able to see which members are online, and if they are looking at a specific thread, viewing their homepage, etc.

As regarding posts, with the exception of Chains which are deleted after about three weeks because of sheer volume, we only remove offensive posts. Sometimes very old threads are removed for space but I am unaware that we have done that recently.

OK thanks both of you. I appreciate the help and I'm sure I'll get it all figured out soon.
