I'd like to have "No-one Lives Forever" by Oingo Boingo played at my funeral, and "Dead Man's Party" by the same group played at the wake!
I heard "Rainbow Connection" (yes, with Kermit and all) played at a funeral recently, and it struck me how fitting the words were, so I'd like to have that too. And "Ride of the Valkyries" as my coffin disappears would be terribly fitting, I think.

Dad had the usual hymns, but we also had "Silent Night" and "Bring Flowers of the Rarest" playing in the background. With "Memories", for my funeral, (not for a "few" years yet I hope!) I'd like "Is this the way to Aramillo", by Tony Christie. That's one song guarenteed to put a smile on my face...and I hope it would do so for everyone else too

As for my funeral? "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen.

I'm TOTALLY kidding! But I do love me some Queen.

I was reading a book, and listening to the radio, and as one of the characters died, that came on. It was really weird, I kinda freaked out.

As for my funeral, I think "Hymn To Her" by The Pretenders. It's a bit sad, but I really like it.

"And she will always carry on
Something is lost
But something is found
They will keep on speaking her name
Somethings change
Some stay the same"

I only want one song played at my funeral-"My Way" by Frank Sinatra because that is the way I want to be remembered.

In My Life by either The Beatles or Judy Collins. I love both versions

Amazing Grace by Judy Collins

I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash

As people are leaving the graveside service:

Carry That Weight/The End by The Beatles starting with the line "Oh yeah, alright, are you *gonna* be in my dreams tonight" and ending with "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

I would also love a sing along of Twist & Shout at the church, but I don't think that will ever happen. LOL

"Sicilienne by Gabriel Faure" would be nice when they pop me in the roaster. I'd listen until I was juiceless ash. Then find a nice windy day in the mountains and fling me into the air. Finish it off with "Don't Fence Me In" by Cole Porter as I float away.

Actually, I thought that would be good too, sort of like in Ferris Bueller? Great .

Oh, at our graduation dance, they played Twist & Shout, and there's this kid in our class who looks like Ferris Bueller, so I got a great picture of him dancing to that song, with his collar turned up and everything. Great memories.
